How long after being with your s/o did you realize that that they were "the one"? And was it something they did, said, or just you?

    For me it is after 2-3 months. I'm a bit old-fashioned when it comes to relationships.

    I met him when I was 17, he was 22. Met a McDonalds. He called me that night, got engaged on my 18th birthday, got married 2 years after that, just celebrated our 20th anniversary this past Sept.

    Pretty much before we even started dating! But we started talking marriage and using the "we" word about a month and a half into our relationship. Nothing shocking happened....it just happened. You just know in your gut.

    i had a crush on her the moment i saw her, and i always had a feeling that we'd be together.

    when i got a job in MD, and was thinking about moving away - i realized that if my girlfriend didn't want to go with me, then i wasn't going. to her, it was a no-brainer that she was moving with me. that is the moment that sticks out the most.

    I didn't. I married the wrong one. Knew that right away though :)

    We're now divorced (as we should be) & I'm NOW living my "happily ever after" (without him)

    Been single a year and a half now, still haven't found "the one" (or even had a date to be honest) but i'll let you know when I find him LOL

    With my first wife, over a year - but I was also a senior in high school.

    With wife # 2 (good call on #1 eh??) It was about 2 weeks. We met online and have been together now almost 10 years.

    about 6 - 8 weeks... sadly he didnt agree at that point, and dumped me... but 5 years later we are married... so alls well that ends well!!!!!!

    The first night Samantha sat down and talked to me - she stated "I'm going to marry you"... I laughed - as I was going through a divorce when she said that!! Fast Forward 7 months - divorce finalized... I'm wearing the wedding band she got me!!

    3 years later... we have a beautiful 18 month daughter and I couldn't be happier! :)

    A month after our initial meeting, but we were both young and didn't think "we were the one" - we remained friends and the military sent us off on our seperate ways for 3yrs. Ran back into each other in April, went on a date and we really tried to keep it as a "summer fling" but love had other plans!! By the end of the summer we were in love and planning on moving in together, engaged 9 months after our first "official" date, married 9 months after that and we just celebrated 12yrs!

    I'm a bit on the slow side...I was 13 when we met, I knew he was it by 15, now I'm 32 and he's still the one and we're still not together. We're working on changing that, though.

    3 days after I met my sweetheart on match.com we went on our first date. I fell in love with him over dinner and knew he was the one when he kissed me. The connection was completely unmistakable and we've been happy ever since :smile:

    Sounds cliche, but before I ever spoke a word to him. I saw him walking on the other side of the road and just knew that he was it, he was the one. And now, 7 years and two kids later he certainly has been <3

    I had a feeling within a few days that he was something special, it didn't really hit me until a few months later though.

    Unfortunately he's not my s/o, and never will be. But he is the best friend I could ever ask for, I know he'll always be there for me, and I'll take that :happy:

    1 year after we dated, we were side by side for at least 10 hours a day unless one of us had to work..

    thought she was the one till she cheated on me when I went to boot camp, sigh.. I tried. Oh well guess Ill stay single forever. :)
