I have been pigging out all weekend longI'm back up about 2 pounds. I need to get back to the gym and plan to get serious about it again this week. Got a good bit of stuff done this weekend. The big thing was I finally put "For Sale by Owner" sign in front of the house. Screw Joey if he won't help.
My parents have a Wii and I'm thinking I MIGHT get Just Dance so I can play. I'm not one to do home workouts on dvd, but I really enjoyed it the other night at my bff's house and I burned 700 cals in an hour! I don't know if I should spend that kind of money right now though....not until I get a second job.0 -

you go, Blombie!! If you want something done, done right, or done at all, never rely on a man! & Ipigged out also..0 -
Debra, eep! that does not sound good. Perhaps you did need to see a specialist. The 10 pounds seem way off... there's no way you would really be up that much. It's probably water, bloat, impending TOM, etc. Good luck getting to the gym today and sweating it up!! hang in there!
Blombie- way to go with putting up the "for sale" sign. That's a huge step, and it must feel great to do it. Proud of you! I hope you're able to get back into an exercise routine that's manageable for you
It was a two caffeine drink sort of morning for me. Most mornings I made myself some hot tea (irish breakfast... nice and strong), but this morning I needed coffee too. I don't drink much coffee, and when I do, I usually splurge and get a nonfat sugar free latte, but this morning I needed it. I put in a packet of hot chocolate in the mug and filled it up with coffee. Mmm... mocha. Totally worth the 80 calories that the packet added. Certainly not something I would do every day, but now I'm 'raring to go. Too bad my first potential patient of the day no showed. :grumble: Here's hoping for the other 2 potentials to show up this afternoon. I want my enrollment numbers to look good compared to the others. I like to be competitive like that. :blushing:0 -
Debra - Oh, I feel for you. That just sucks. I too feel that it's time for you see a specialist. My thoughts and prayers are with you. ***HUG**** from across the virtual world. I always tell my patients, "If I had a magic pill to take away all your pain, I'd give it to you and we'd make millions." Now, I just have to develop one. Getting older is the pits. PS - send me your snow. I want more here. We are expecting 4 to 8 inches over the next 3 days. I wish it was more. Oh you asked the other day if the books on tape were free - sorry - I paid for the books awhile ago. I lost my library when my laptop crashed and can re-download them for free. The reason I was working in the middle of the night is our ISP provider allows unlimited downloading for free from 2 - 7 am.
Kristina - good luck roping in the new clients. Great job on your running. Just think in 4 weeks you graduate. I can't wait for the party. I think week 6 was the hardest week. Starting with week 7, you make full runs each day and just keep adding min to each week...
Blombie - you go girl and screw men. Good luck getting back into a routine
Nikki - Drink more water and make sure to eat at least 1200 cal a day. That water weight should come off soon. Glad you like your laptop.
CDs - hope you had a nice weekend.
Lunch is over. It's back to work I go. :grumble:0 -
where do I get c25k and how much does it cost? I might be willing to do that when it gets warmer and I can go outside0

Cool running website has the written times for C25K training. I downloaded free podcasts that cued me when to walk and run. Do a web search and you should find some for free with the type of music that you like. Good luck. I can't believe how much I like running. Although, I thought the 9 weeks of training would never end.

welcome amber! this is a great group of ladies. we all understand how busy life gets, and keep right on supporting one another.
This weekend was ok. made sure to eat good, as i knew i'd have some goodies on sunday. but, alas, i ate some bad food on sunday.....and felt like crap all night. Gee, i wonder if eating healthy makes you feel better? duh!!
did some more running this morning, and trying to keep up on my calories so hopefully (fingers and toes crossed) i can have another good loss this week.
i am just so proud of us all!!0 -
deb....hang in there. you'll be fine.
let us know how the specialist turns out.
love, hugs and prayers :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
thanks all for making me feel so welcome. i love the "Fling into Spring" idea!!! bu i have a question. since the challenges are 6 weeks long how do you manage to track you weight loss during that TOM? as it is i dont think i am going to weigh myself this week since i know i am retaining water horribly.
Deb- i know what you mean about gaining 10 lbs over night i had just lost 4 lbs and my scale shot up 12 lbs over night although 4 of those have dropped back off. good luck with your problem i hope you get some answers soon.
Amber0 -
Thanks guys, I have to start the whole process over again.....:explode: , first my Doc wants to see me...( it will take 2 weeks) then he'll refer me from there. I am just trying to research on my own, I would love to find a natural remedy. It will be trial and error I guess. I haven't gotten back on that evil scale....
Pinbot, the snowing if flying now... and it's not suppose to stop until tomorrow night, I think I am going to run into town this morning for milk...I just noticed we're out...drat!:ohwell:
I better do that...I'll check back later.....0 -
Deb - My mom had horrible TOM problems with it coming every 2 weeks and huge clots like jelly coming out. Hysterectomy was the cure. I wish you the best of luck. Hope you feel better soon.
Amber - sometimes I skip weighing with TOM and sometimes I weigh but don't record. I have noticed the longer I am losing weight the better TOM issues are. Less heavy flow and less weight gain but I still get cranky pants the week before :grumble: Do what ever works best for you. If you don't weight that week, I just leave a blank spot on the chart. If you weigh yourself this week, you will just look super great for the challenge since the water weight will come off.
I better get off my dupa and get on that treadmill. I'll check back later.0 -
Thanks for the c25k info!!
I have been staying up way too late this week. I am finally back down to 236.0 today. I was actually up to 238.6 yesterday because of all the crap I ate over the weekend. Joey had to go down to Lumberton yesterday afternoon and won't be back till Wednesday. So I went to the house and got to spend several hours playing with my dog and catching up on some of my dvr'd shows that I've missed. I can't wait to get to move back into my house and see my dog every day. She's the best dog ever. Her name is Lexi and she's a 50 pound boxer mix. I would like to be able to take her for jogs/runs in the spring/fall (sorry, its way too hot to run in the summer here)0 -
Blombie- your dog sounds adorable! I miss having a dog. I'm hoping that once I move to my own place later this year I'll eventually get one.
It just started snowing here. We're supposed to get 5-10 inches, which is our first major storm of the season... very off for us! Normally we get much more snow. it's throwing things off at work though. I had an in-service talk I was supposed to give tomorrow, which I now have to reschedule and trying to block off doc's schedules is a pain!!
And ARGH. Guess what monthly visitor came my way yesterday? Son of a beeyotch. There goes my final week weigh-in. I was 205 on Monday... only 2 pounds away from my 10 pound loss goal (i was proud of myself), and this morning? 208. I'm sure it'll just be as bad as the week goes on. Why oh why did I i have 2 TOMs this challenge. It killed me. That's why I was much more of a weepy grumpypants person yesterday. My period's been all over the place. Might be a bit TMI. I've always been somewhat irregular, but I usually would be on more of a 35 day cycle, which I can't complain about, because hey, less TOMs every year. The past 2 months it's been more of a 28-day (it was 26 last month, 27 this month), so I'm not sure what's going down. My cycle's all over the place. The only positive I see in this is that if I count my weigh-in as it really is on Friday (I figure I'll be up a couple pounds), I should have a pretty big loss the first week of the "fling into spring" challenge. And I know overall it won't impact my weight loss in the long run.
The plan is to go to the rec center after work to do day 2 of c25k. I'm a bit worried about the snow though. If it's horrid, I might just have to go home and this week might be one whole big bust, as I'm leaving for a mini-break after work Friday and wouldn't be able to squeeze in the final 2 runs with a day apart before leaving. I may need to repeat week 6 next week. We'll see. I'm hoping for it to hold off a bit so I can get the run in. Although, as I look out the window, it's already starting to come down. Argh. Just ARGH all around.0 -
Where do you live, Kristina? Were getting snow too, but I never paid enough attention to the news to know when its coming...0
-
okay - I want to know what goblin steals posts. I had a long one typed in and it disappeared *sigh*
Kristina - I hope your mini break is somewhere fun and warm. Send some of that snow to the north - we are only supposed to get 3 inches in the next few days :sad: I want more snow. If you don't get the jogging in this week, then finish day 3 early next week. You can start week 7 mid week next week.
Blombie - Lexie is going to love jogging with you.
I don't know if I'll get to check back later. My book club is going for and early dinner to see an author promote her new book and tonight is my 19th anniversary so we are having pizza and beer while we watch our wedding video. I'm gong to be way over in cal with 2 dinners. I'm sure DH will want attention :blushing: and I wont be near the computer. Have a great day.0 -

Southeastern Michigan.
Pinbot- enjoy your evening with you man! It sounds lovely! :blushing:
I actually need to drop a laptop off at the hospital soon, so there's no point in going back to the clinic at that point and the rec center is on the way home, so unless it's absolutely dumping snow, I'll stop in and at least do the running... maybe some time on the bike if it looks okay out. So far we've gotten 2 inches, and it's snowing just a little right now, but it's supposed to pick up later in the day/evening. I'll let y'all know how much we end up getting!0 -
Yummy lunch alert!!
Fresh Express Mediterranean Salad (3 cups), with dressing, croutons and cheese that is included.
4 oz water packed tuna....
total calories......260!!!!
holy hell it was good!!0 -
Hello! I'd like to join this group, if that's OK. What's the scoop?0
-
mrsbojangles, welcome! you picked a good time to join! we're in our last week of our valentine's day challenge. we have 6-week challenges, so the next is our "fling into spring" challenge that starts at the end of the week. Our weekly weigh-ins are on Fridays. Generally, the goal is to lose 10 pounds in those 6-weeks, but you can aim for whatever you like! Look for a new thread every week either Thursday night/Friday morning. It's a great place to check in, vent, find ideas/support, etc. I love these gals! If you'd like, you can check back for previous threads of ours to get a feel of what it's like
cds, glad you found a lunch that was yummy (and low cal!)
I'm loving my triple bean salad I made for the week (though clearly, you have to love beans):
* 1/2 cup chopped green onions (i used red onions)
* 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
* 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
* 1 (15.5-ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
* 1 (15.5-ounce) can kidney beans, drained
* 1 (15.5-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed
* 3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
* 2 tablespoons olive oil
* 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
* 1 teaspoon lemon juice
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
Mix together all the ingredients before the vinegar, then mix together the bottom ingredients and pour over and toss it. It's better to sit overnight.
I did make it to the gym today. So glad it's on my way home. Did day 2 of week 6 of c25k. No real problems with the running, though this is my last day in the challenge with a walking break in the middle. Eeep! It's definitely a safety crutch for me. It'll be hard to get through all 25 minutes on Thursday, though today for the 2-10 minutes runs, I was able to keep my speed up between 4.5-5.0 mph, which is decent for me! I was sweating... erm.. I mean... glowing like a pig.0 -
holy crap ladies....there was another post somewhere on the boards, of course i cant find it again, but it said to go to where you log your foods and click to a new day and just log a sample of what you ate before you got on here. Crap!! was eating around 4000 calories a day when i stopped.
what really surprised me was that when we used to go to jack in the box, i would get the ranch dipping sauce.....the itty bitty cup....150 frickin calories in there!!! and i'd have 4.
and 500 cals in a large dr. pepper? holy hell!!!0 -
and happy anniversary pinot!!
be sure to log those burned calories....lol:devil::devil:

Welcome Mrsbojangles :flowerforyou: We always like getting to know new people. Just jump in and start posting. I love your name and sing the song every time I see you post. I am not sure what happened to the rest of the group from highs, lows, anything goes but people stopped posting there.
I had a wonderful evening and DH even brought me flowers. He can be soooo sweet. No wonder I love him. I had a 1/2 of a Greek salad at the restaurant with my book club buddies and limited myself to 2 slices of pizza. In all, I was only 230 or so cal over. I haven't gotten up to see the damage but since I had a few drinks and my mouth is dry, I am betting I'm a tad dehydrated :blushing: I will be back with a happy dance if by some miracle it said I dropped below 200 (even if it was water and going to come back) - Oh to dream of actually getting out of the 200 club. Don't worry I wont disappear if that happens. You have been stuck with me for 4 months now and I'm not leaving. No more drinking tonight or the rest of the week. 2 more days until weigh-in. I need to get off the computer and go do some kind of a work out. Maybe I'll Zumba this morning.
cd - I'm scared to log what I used to eat. I frequented McD's drive through often since I spend all day in the car. Now that I pack my "healthy" lunches, I can't even imagine why I ever went to the fast food places. It's kind of scary that I am starting to like baby carrots and apples. They actually taste sweet to me.
Kristina - since I've been doing the longer runs, I have slowed the treadmill down to 4.5 or 4.6. I figure once I can run for the full 3.1 miles of a 5K (which should be next week when I hit 41 min:bigsmile: ) then I will work on speed.
Have a great day. I have the afternoon off so I will check in again later.0 -
pinot and anyone else:
I'm with you on the treadmill running. i go about 4.5-4.7 depending on how i feel, and try to do 2 miles, and am working up to 3. i don't care how fast i am going right now. that will come later.0 -
does anyone know where I can find c25k music thats not a podcast for the ipod? I just have a regular mp3 player0

Hi girls this seems like a great group, i'd love to join in ur next 6 week challenge.0

I used Nicole's mixes. She calls them podcasts, but they are mp3 files. I'm not a techno fan, so the music on the more official c25k page didn't work for me. Hers doesn't have a lot of talking, just counts down from 5 to 1 before each transition, which was all I really needed.

OK...drat..double drat...!!!!:mad: I tried to post a reply this morning and it doesn't look like it worked...I tried three different times, did anyone else have trouble this morning? I'll never remember all of what I said...:laugh: :laugh: , that was hours ago:laugh: :laugh:

Well good for me, it worked...now if I could only control my fingers...and not make so many spelling mistakes I'd be one happy camper...something to work on!0

Welcome dukey :flowerforyou: akasullengal posted a nice welcome to mrsbojangles yesterday that will give you more info on our group. Feel free to jump and post questions, progress and life anytime.
blombie here is robert ullery's c25k in mp3 format http://www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/page6/page6.html
Here is another that I found while looking for stuff to get from 5K to 10K :noway: I may be crazy but really want to keep going. http://www.djsteveboy.com/1day25k.html
This one may work but is Christian music. http://www.buriedtalentsband.com/C25K/
I am super lazy today. At least mom is coming over to workout later. I piddled my morning away and didn't manage to workout:embarassed: God bless house cleaners and thank goodness I have one. I hate cleaning. She is downstairs working away as I am playing on the computer. Not the best use of my money but with no kids, I have to spoil myself somehow. We got about 6 inches of snow and the world looks beautiful today. Unfortunately, it's too cold and windy to play in it. I did spend 10 min shoveling off the front and back decks. So the scale only partially liked me today being 201. I guess I'll just have to keep dreaming of that number in the 100s.
The ad at the side of my screen today is for www.audible.com where I get my books on tape. It looks like they are offering a free book. The site uses itunes or windows media player. They have a section on devices which will tell you what devices are compatible with their formats. This is a much better add then the skinny women. If you want a nice long book, try Diana Gabaldon's Outlander... My other dream in life (besides running a marathon) would be to write a book. I can't wait to retire and work on it. Only another 20 or so years to go. Have a great day ladies.0
