DON'T HATE ON BEETS!

I just want to say it's morally wrong and very hurtful to me that my friends are hating on beets. You probably have had really gross beets like canned of frozen ones. Beets are really yummy and healthy and everyone should eat them. Please do not hate beets.

Thank you.

I wouldn't even go as far as hating on canned beets. My favourite thing about christmas dinner is beet salad which is chilled canned beets & red onions with an apple cider vinegar/ dillweed/s&p/sugar/oil dressing.
I could eat a plate of just that salad and be happy

Guess what? I just received the 2013 Milk Calendar and there's an awesome-sounding recipe for "Dark and Delicious Chocolate Velvet Cake" that uses a full cup of chopped BEETS for a large part of its sugar and moisture content! Now THERE is a good reason to love beets... that's my kind of veggie eating! mmmmmmmmmm!

So there, beet haters! I DARE you to hate this.

I had an amazing salad sat night: Roasted beets, arugula, shaved root vegetables, chevre (goat cheese) and hazelnuts with light vinaigrette. YUMMY!

Roasted/boiled FRESH beets are the best.

I love beets, especially roasted beet from the farmer's market.

However, I also love plain old canned beets.

If it's your first time preparing fresh beets take some advice and use a plastic cutting board. They will stain a wood board...and your hands, and anything else the juice touches. But if you want, you can use it to die your hair.

Just got red and yellow beets from the CSA- roasted them with olive oil, salt and cumin. So good- even my picky 12 year old ate them up and asked for more!

I'll just chime in and say I hate beets. Unless they are pickled, and I'm putting them on crakerbread with cream cheese, maybe some smoked trout.

My 4 yr old will eat them any which way you give them to him. And he'll eat as many as you give him. He's a non-stop beet eater.

To me, roasted, steamed, grilled (even pickled) they kind of taste like dirt.
Too bad I hate them since they are so good for you.

\/ mmmm.... beat greens. those I will eat happily.
