I am in love with canadian chicks.
My last name is canadian enough. I should just move there.0 -
Do we do the holiday better? Depends on your traditions.
BUT, having it farther away from the Christmas season makes everything a little easier to swallow.
I have been curious all week while reading the forums - what is green bean casserole? I don't think I've ever had such a dish at our Thanksgivings.0 -
Perhaps we just do it quieter.
While thanksgiving is important to many, it's not quite the insanity of indulgence it appears to be south of the border.0 -
Canadians are to blame for Justin Beiber.
You be the judge.0 -
False, the British do it better... wait no thanksgiving here.0

I think we are just a little subtler about it - which, I suppose when it comes to caloric intake, does make it "better" for weight loss .
That said, I've read some threads on American Thanksgiving, and I think I'd be a goner down south. WAAYYY too much deliciousness.0 -
We do everything better
For sure!0 -
i think our holidays in general are not as consummation oriented but that also might just be my family , we didn't have a bigger diner then usual , just an piece of pumpkin pie0

SO TRUE.
We're more easy going...plus our food regulations mean that manufacturers can't hide as many fillers or garbage as they can in the US foods.0 -
I think they just whine a little less, I mean they have poutine and don't whine about that either
LOL poutine is so good and makes you feel so mushy inside that you cant whine anyway :P0 -
Me either, I dont remember all the panic.....lol... :laugh:0

From what I can see we Canadians are way more low key about Thanksgiving and are not consuming nearly as much as our American cousins. Less eating, less traveling, less shopping...I look at Thanksgiving as a harvest festival not an excuse to indulge and go over the top. That's reserved for the NHL playoffs....0

That green bean casserole does sound tasty.
Our "green" dish at Thanksgiving was always brussel sprouts.0 -

And "My heart will go on.'
I feel we as Canadians need to take the blame for that too.
I don't think we do it any better, I don't think we posted it on the forums - and I think there may be a few more Americans on the site...0 -
