Do you like honey? That is the way most Greeks eat everything! Everything sweetened with honey!

This is how we sweeten it as well; a little bit of raw honey. There is a brand that sells a honey sweetened plain greek yogurt, but my wife and I have a difference of opinion about the amount of honey to put in (so we prefer to get the plain and have the freedom to put as much/little in as we'd like).

I add a little bit of agave nectar - gives it a yummy caramel flavor!

where the heck do you find that at?? lol
  • I take normal flavoured greek yogurt. It's not really sweet so I put dried fruit, cereal or honey in it.

Trust me 1tsp of honey makes everything better.
As a Greek myself, I recommend it. It's delicious ;)

I add a tiny bit of honey to mine. personally I don't think honey is as bad as processed table sugar. honey is made in nature and technically has a different chemical composition. not all sugars are made the same.

I have it with honey and while honey is just sugar you're in control of how much you use, a little goes a long way and it tastes better than regular sugar or sweeter. It really is so tasty.

I love Greek yogurt as well, what I found that tastes really good for me, was to add some PB2, some stevia and mix it together, once it has been mixed well, I would then add some psyllium husk powder, which adds a good dose of fiber as well as making the yogurt really filling and not to caloric.

I hear some people are adding protein powder to their yogurt, never tried it myself though!

Add chocolate protein powder!! It is DELICIOUSSSSS! I like it better with the vanilla, but it still taste good with the plain :)
  • I use Truvia to taste.
  • Cinnamon! And vanilla extract! And stevia or another sweetener alternative. All work great.

I can't eat it plain either, so I add plain to the fruit on the bottom kind and now I'm eating a lot less sugar that way. Maybe you could mix plain and vanilla?

first of all depending on the brand the sugar is coming from the fruit added. so if you stick to the ones with real fruit the sugar should not be much of a worry especially if you are eating them for breakfast. you are going to need that boost of sugar to get you through the morning or through your workout if you do morning workouts.

I like adding cooked fruit (mixed berries, pineapple, peaches etc.) and a little bit of cinnamon. Peaches and nectarines are especially sweet.

I use the flavoured ones but just have a half serving of it now, adding the same amount of no-salt cottage cheese.

1/4 cup fat free lime greek yogurt
    1/4 cup 2% no-salt cottage cheese

    110 calories, 11g carb, 13g protein, 2g fat, 9g sugar, 42mg sodium

I get the Dannon Light & Fit flavored kind. It's 80 cal & 12 gm of protein per cup. I've had the strawberry and blueberry and they're pretty good.

I eat greek yoghurt with about 5 strawberries cut up, or 10-20 raspberries. If you limit the amount of fruit, it's not too much sugar, and I pick low fructose fruit, because I'm fructose intolerant. I've been reducing the amount of fruit I put in because of my intolerance, and it takes a few days to get used to the less sugary, more tangy taste.

My husband will eat greek yoghurt with walnuts and honey.

As long as you measure what you put in, you can make sure the sugar content is lower than the flavoured yoghurts you've been buying.

Learn to love it without sweeteners? I love it with some Kashi cereal thrown in and a bit of powdered cinnamon
