How do you tell your parents that you dont want to eat something because its unhealthy for dinner?

You can tell them what you just said.
OR you can offer to bring something that would be more "food diary friendly" and not tell anybody it's more healthy than what they have...
OR like someone else suggested, try to see if you can help with the meal planning and suggest alternatives that will make it more healthy.

My family is HUGE on making things that my kids won't really like. SO, we usually eat before we get there - something that we know our kids will eat and will like - that way they won't get hungry and cranky while were there or eat the house down when we get home. I remember once we brought a brick of sharp cheese for a snack. The family couldn't be on time if they tried and the kids were all hungry, so we broke it open and started slicing up the cheese and an apple too - all the kids gathered around, and even my grandparents said, "Hey that looks good - give us some!" LOL

The straight forward tell will usually work best though.

    For what it's worth....
