  • The faster you lose, the more likely you are to have loose skin. If you're going to have stretch marks, you'd likely already have them. You get them from gaining weight, not losing it. The best advice is lose weight slowly, work to maintain muscle, and use a good moisturizer.

Well do you have stretch marks right now? Most of the stretch marks fade away, so they arent really a problem.

Youre still really young too, so your skin should be elastic enough to repair itself. If youre losing a lot of weight fast, then yeah, youll have loose skin for a while. But just like any woman who has given birth, all that loose skin tightens back up with a little time.

The more damage that you do to your body, the more likely you will have saggy skin. You are still young so I assume you haven't gotten fat lost a ton, got fat again and lost it and repeat again and again. So if you lose at a healthy rate and other factors like genetics do not come into play, you will more than likely not get saggy skin. But there is no crystal ball for saggy skin futures so no one can tell you that 100% you will not get it. But I assume you will not.

Sagging depends a lot on your genetics and how long you've had the weight cuz that affects your skins elasticity.Start weight training asap for skin toning and lose weight at a moderate pace ~ 2lb/week.Given your weight and age,i don't think you should be worried. And about stretch marks..what they said :)

You don't weight that much for you to haber soggy skin. correct me if I'm wrong but in pounds u weight like 158 right?
I'm 22 and weight 156, I'm doing the shred as well n let me tell u I haves 2 kids and I just had mysecond 2 months ago and i don't have saggy skin. I went up to 180 lbs with my pregnancy. Im so sure you won't have soggy skin, but do work out it helps tighten the skin up. About the stretch marks since you don't weigh much if you were to get stretch marks they would be visible by now. Like a previous post said you het them from gaining weight when you lose weight they usually become visible so even if you have lost atleast a few pounds you'll be able to see them, if you don't then your lucky.

Sorry for all the grammar errors I'm typing fast and my phone always changes what I type.

Don't worry about skin. Deal with it if it's a problem when it's a problem. The only people that I have talked to that have had any problem with it are gastric bypass patients, and it's from losing so quickly. Most people lose at a slow enough rate where it's not an issue. Remember that your skin is not just a covering- it's an actual organ. It has amazing recovery capabilities. I've lost almost 90 lbs. in a year, and every time I thought I might have some extra skin, it turned out to just be more fat that I needed to lose.

Don't forget to lift weights...believe me, you won't get bulky but it will do wonders to change the composition of your body, including skin. It seems to be working for me anyways...Good luck.

Also hydrate! get 10-12 glasses of water daily! And for moisturizing most recomment cocoa butter..but again it all boils down to genetics

I've got a saggy stomach. It's the worse feeling ever. Looking at your progress feeling good about it then seeing your stomach and it's a ****ing mess. I'll likely have to get surgery once I reach my ideal weight and peaked.

My problem was losing the weight too fast, not enough weight training, and not enough lean foods. Went from 246 to 185 in about 7-8 months. When the doctor told me I'd never get abs and that I'll likely need surgery combined with school I quit on myself and gained back to 220. Decided that I didn't want to be fat anymore so I'm back on the horse.

I recommend you lose the weight slowly. Weight train hard, use cocoa butter, drink water, and use a scrubber for your skin.

    Good luck.

Im sorry, I know you hate them, but calling them "ugly" stretch marks is a bit rude... Almost 90% of women will get stretch marks at some point of their life regardless if its from teen growth spurts, weight gain, or pregnancy.

ETA: Im not trying to say anything bad about you hating your stretch marks, cuz I have some and hate them too... I use a dermaroller and emu oil.. Ive tried lots of other things, but this has worked the best.
  • I don't like when people go on "diets." You're either in this for life or it wont be permanent.. :/

I hit a huge growth spurt and got them when I was skinny and got mine. :3 But that was when I was like 14 (6 1/2 year ago) and I'm not bothered by mine at all. There's nothing wrong with them and when I'm done getting to a healthy level then it won't matter if I have them, because I'll still be healthy and that's all that matters to me. I agree with what you say.

hey. try to do some aerobics. when I first lost a lot of weight, 30 lbs, 40 inches, aerobics made sure that everything was toned while losing.

it could have been worded differently. I got really deep red ones when I was pregnant. but I get why she hates them.

Youll have saggy skin if youre way obese. But it sounds like you shouldnt have that problem. I mean like 200+ lbs, then yeah youd have saggy skin.

But if youre like 170, that really shouldnt be a problem for you.

Best advice: If you do end up with saggy skin or stretch marks, just embrace it.
  • since you're still young, your skin is able to recover itself over time. if you already have stretch marks they won't go away but most people don't even notice them, plus they are really common among heaps of people in puberty anyway. loose skin will probably happen if you have over 30 pounds to lose, but would you rather hold on to your fat and feel uncomfortable or be toned and fit and have some loose skin and stretch marks? if you walk around boasting a toned bod no one is going to notice some loose skin, only you :) they should be the least of your worries darl xx
