Last week I did 10 in a row! I don't own a pull up bar, so I honestly had no idea if I could even do one.

I went to the gym on vacation with my aunt.

I was so super excited I could spit. When I was at my heaviest, if I was hanging from a bar, I couldn't even pull myself up an inch and it would hurt my arms horribly.

1 more than any other joker posted before me, and 2 more than anyone who posts after me.
  • when i first got a pull up bar I could barely do one pull up and like three chins...

now I can do about 8 pull ups with 25# plate hanging from my waist and about ten chins with 25# plate....

It just takes practice and dedication..a lot of dedication because pulls and chins are painful!

damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn brah 25 plate? rly? ****.. -claps-

  • Zero!

But my goal is to be able to do one some day. Hopefully soon after I reach my goal weight.
  • 14

    can tell by back brah:D
  • 3 sets of 15 wide grip

    i do same exact:D
  • My parents have a pull up bar in their house (my brother's) so I try to do them whenever I'm there. Two weeks ago when I was there I did 2 (starting hanging with my knees bent) with palms facing me. I have never tried them with palms facing away.

Edited to add that I was so shocked that I announced it throughout the house to my entire family, so of course they wanted to see it to believe it and I couldn't do anymore! haha

    lost practice ha..
  • One and I kinda just hang there for the second. I would love to do more.

tip- do 20 pull ups each day

Yeah chin ups. The first one was an actual pull up. If I were doing pull ups as opposed to chin ups, then the number I can do consistently is probably only three or four.

I've maxed at 27 chins and I think 22-23 each on pull ups and neutral grip pull ups.

I'm up to 4 (on a good day). On average days it's more like 3.5

ETA: Close-grip pull-ups (with the parallel bars).

Dunno. Not done chin ups in ages. 15-20?

Pull ups from straight arm to nipples touching bar, about 15 without kipping.

Pull ups with arms not quite straight to chin reaching bar, about 25 without kipping, but then the world goes fuzzy.

Plyometric pull ups, straight arm, no kipping, 8-10.

Not nearly enough love for this, imo. This is pretty damned impressive.

About 12, depending on how much I want to feel the negatives. A few years ago I could only do 1!

No clue. I should really see how many I could do but I normally work at lower rep ranges and weighted. Currently doing neutral grip (easier than chins, much easier than wide grip pullups IMO), but I think my previous max for chins was BW+75lb for 5.

I have not tried to max out on just regular body weight pulls in a while...I think I will give it a shot this weekend and post the results...once you start doing weighted pulls you kinda get addicted to it...or so I think ...^ body weight + 75lb is freaking impressive!

I remember when I was really into it (meaning training was more focus on that part) I've been able to hit 100 reps in a row, now, around 70-80 in a row, but still able to add a couple after a small rest

It's sad, but I can only do 2 body weight chins. Assisted I can do 10-12.
