    51 here. I could totally kick my 25 year old self's *kitten*.
    What small metabolism losses may have occurred can be compensated for in 10 minutes on a treadmill...plus, as others have said, lift some weights and keep the muscle mass up.

    Every time I've tried to lose weight I've been scared that the metabolic slowdown will have started, and it's a way I've motivated myself to lose now, not later. I find, however, that I need far more food than mfp would predict to maintain my weight, so I don't think there's any such thing going on for me yet (aged 37).
