If I skip drinking water in the morning...

Will my metabolism slow down? Also, will this cause my muscle to turn to fat?

Why would you do that anyway? I drink water all day long and always have a glass on my nightstand. When I wake up in the morning I'm damn thirsty.

You are not actually thirsty. I've read that your body gets confused between hunger and thirst, you were probably hungry

water? you mean... you're supposed to drink that *kitten* straight? I just use it to shower and make my coffee...

coffee flavored water... now THAT's where it's at!
  • Per fit resources and nutritionist insisting: Drinking 8 ounces of water when you get up wakes up your organ function. It lets your body prepare to go to work.

You don't have to do it... I just prefer to do it better. Every little bit pushes us farther to our goal. If I drank water only when I am thirsty I would be a mummy by now - I'm never thirsty.

    AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Bump this response!!!

Water does equal temporary weight...it is common for athletes who need to meet certain weight requirements to drink lots of water before weigh-in if they are under by a little bit. In regards to skipping it...are you drinking other fluids that have water? Most people hate water by itself. If you are consuming no fluids, that is bad. If you don't agree, ask a doctor or nutritionist. Unless you are a camel or desert tortoise, in which case, I am in awe that you are posting on the Internets.

WRONG! If you eat bread or sugar then muscles turn to fat. That's just one simple example that everybody knows. There are other ways too like watching tv too long.

We need to sit down and have a chat about the birds and the bees. Water is not where babies come from, even though babies are 60% water.

"Muscle and fat are two separate and distinct types of tissue," says Cedric X. Bryant, Ph.D., chief exercise physiologist for the American Council on Exercise. "Muscle can't turn into fat any more than wood can turn into metal. But as muscles shrink because of inactivity, fat can fill the space where the muscles used to be, giving the mistaken impression that the muscles have turned to fat."

Ironwood is a common name for a large number of woods that have a reputation for hardness. Usage of the name may (or may not) include the tree that yields this wood. Some of the species involved are:

    Acacia estrophiolata, Southern ironwood
    Androstachys johnsonii, Lebombo ironwood
    Carpinus caroliniana, American hornbeam
Casuarina equisetifolia, Common ironwood from Australia
    Casuarinaceae (she-oaks) in general
Chionanthus foveolatus, Pock ironwood from South Africa
    Choricarpia subargentea, Giant ironwood
Copaifera spp., Diesel Tree, Kerosene Tree, Kupa'y, Cabismo, or Copaúva
Diospyros blancoi, Mabolo, Velvet Apple, or Kamagong native to the Philippines
Erythrophleum chlorostachys, Cooktown ironwood from Australia.
    Eusideroxylon zwageri, Borneo ironwood
    Guaiacum officinale, Lignum vitae
    Guaiacum sanctum, Holywood
Holodiscus discolor, Ocean Spray or Creambrush
Hopea odorata, White thingan, Ceylon or Malabar ironwood
    Krugiodendron ferreum, Black Ironwood
    Lophira alata, Red ironwood
    Lyonothamnus floribundus, Lyon tree
Mesua ferrea, Rose chestnut or Ceylon ironwood or Nahar
Nestegis apetala, Coastal maire, Broad-leaved maire or Ironwood
    Olea spp., Various olive trees
    Olneya tesota, Desert ironwood
    Ostrya knowltonii, Knowlton's hophornbeam
    Ostrya virginiana, Hophornbeam
    Parrotia persica, Persian ironwood
    Pemphis acidula, Maldivian ironwood
Tabebuia serratifolia, Ipê, "Brazilian Walnut", Lapacho, Yellow poui
Vepris lanceolata, The White ironwood tree of South Africa
Xanthostemon verdugonianus, Philippine Ironwood or Mangkono, endemic to the Philippines

    Take THAT, Doctor Professor Anti-alchemy!

Not calories, grams of water per day. It's important to get the correct ratio to body weight. Use this formula:

[Year you were born] * [0.0338140225589] = number of fluid oz. of water you should have each day.

To keep the metabolism up and prevent muscle from turning to fat I recommend a cleanse. Anything by Dr. Oz would be sufficient.
