    WOW....8 pounds gone so far this challenge! Makes me very excited! Especially since I had my melt down last week...I know that I WILL see results from my hard work! AND even with some poor food choices and missing some exercise, I was still able to lose! I think my body just SO wants to shed this extra weight!:wink:

    Rhiannon...AWESOME!!! I have my fingers crossed for you to get to Van! I am a little jealous! Would LOVE to partake in the festivities there!

    Cathy...nice loss! You're doing great!!!!! Keep it up! And let us know how it goes with the trainer today!

    Well...I got a good run in last night...but my darn knees are still out of whack! I think they got all funky carrying around all the extra weight of pregnancy that they are now taking their sweet time getting back to normal. Oh well...I just do intervals...I'll run at like 5.5 mph for maybe 10 minutes or so, then do a few minutes at 6.5 mph, then back to 5.5 for another 5-10 minutes, and then walk at about 4.2 mph for a while...I just have to keep switching it up and then they don't feel so bad. And I actually burn more calories than if I were to just run at like 6.0 mph for a half hour or whatever...my body likes the intervals! So, I got my run in last night, but I ate horribly! Only went over my calories by a bit, but they were poor choices. Today NEEDS to be a better day!

    Kadence is feeling much better these days and has been sleeping through the night again! YAY!!!! She is still all stuffy and I am constantly sucking out her nose (which she does not like!) but she's much better than she was! We go back to the doctor March 5th for her 6 month check up (I can't believe it!) We have a baby shower to go to for friends this Saturday...and I'm super excited! I now know how it feels to be preparing for a little one! We also have a birthday party on Sunday for a friend's daughter at Chucky Cheese...should be interesting! But it's the first birthday party Kadence has been invited to, so we should have fun! And then next week Sunday is my neice's first birthday party! I don't know who all was one here when I was mentioning that my sister-in-law was having a baby, but it feels like just yesterday! And now she's turning 1! That's SO crazy! So...Kadence will get to attend TWO birthdays and a baby shower in the next two weeks...busy girl!:wink::happy:

    SO...for a name for next challenge, is everyone thinking they like "Shamrock Sixers" or how about "ShamROCKING Sixers"?? I think that's kinda cute! Or it was "Shamrock Shaking Sixers" I think that B suggested.

    Even though I'm not officially weighing in, I did weigh myself this morning to get a gauge on where I am. (I know I said I wouldn't, lol) 153.4 which is a loss from the 155 I was at. This means I am doing better and on the right track. Phew!! Personals coming later guys!!! :heart:

    And because I always forget TUESDAY is the day we start posting... lol, I wanted to pose this question to every one WHILE I REMEMBER:

    If you could go back 10 years and give the former you some advice... what would you say?

    I wouldn't.

    I could change everything -- not marry the guy I did, not have the baby I did, not get a degree in the field I did.... I could change my entire life if I went back 10 years and clued myself in... but then where would I be? I wouldn't be Me. I'd be someone else. I woudn't have my daughter, and she is my world.

    Every mistake I make, every wrong decision, every lesson learned.... those make me who I am today. No regrets. That is a CHOICE, to have no regrets. Sure I've done things that I shouldn't have... but no regrets. I have learned. :smile:

    --- And PLEASE don't let this post make anyone else not write down what they'd say to themselves from 10 years ago. This is my personal deal. I'd love to hear your advice to former you!!!! :bigsmile:

    what a social life kadence has. better get her a daytimer.

    as for 10 years. the one thing would be i wouldn't have sold my house in 05. that is something i deal with often. i know i can't do anything about it, just something i should have seen the signs. i now look and pay attention to signs. which is the lesson it taught me.

    Tamara, the only change is that you should enter your start weight and goal weight just for this challenge instead of your over-all. Usually people use a guide of 10-15% of their weight left to lose as a goal. Hope that helps :wink: WELCOME!

    Cathy, they say it's 80% diet, 20% exercise. Keep watching your food intake. Try to pinpoint what foods you ate this past week and see if you can duplicate!! 4 lbs is a fantastic loss!!!! :drinker:

    Kristin, gosh you are blowing this challenge away!!! You are such an inspiration! I wish I had started losing weight faster after my daughter was born instead of waiting so long.

    AND I like "Shamrock Shaking Sixers" but am down with whatever we decide as a group :smile:

    Nicole, I sat at a plateau in the upper 160s for sooooooo long. Good luck breaking yours, dear. I know that frustration, but know it can be done!!!

    Hi Tam! Just FYI.... we also have a Tammara here (DrTamm), so you two might get confused on here a bit :wink. I think I'll call you 'Tamara' and her 'Tamm' just to try to keep you guys separate in my mind.

    ok, training.....i have rubber legs. now i workout in a gym, walk/run on a treadmill for an hour. do machines. i can leg press 180. i think that is the highest i ever tried. which i thought i did pretty good....NOT.... since he trains in shanells warehouse that's where the group meets. there are no treadmills, not machines, just YOUR body weight. we went into groups of 2 or 3 and had to do a routine he made up. who ever got the most routines won. it was 5 push ups, 10 sit ups, 15 squats. i did 5 sets. than the team that one wanted all to do these exercises where you stand up, go down to the ground like a push up and back to standing again. i got to use the box since i was a newbie. i did 12. my gosh when you have to use your own body weight big difference. much harder. i burned 360 calories in about 20 mins. hardly worked up a sweat, but the HR was over 150. WOW is all i have to say. this should be good. i have nutrition class and another workout tomorrow and again on thurs. that's the way it will run for 6 weeks. all for 100 bucks, i really can't beat the price.

    so i am going to go take some aspirin, and my water and watch my soap while my legs find themselves again.

    This morning I weighed in (as I said before) at 153.4 lbs.
    Not horrible but not great. I've still never dropped below that elusive 150-mark.

    For whatever reason, my motivation came flooding back into me today.
    I have logged my food (poor choices, but I wasn't motivated to eat well when I packed breakfast last night :laugh:).
    I need to drink water today. I pay for use of the water cooler at work. I need to utilize that.
    The gym? Still haven't joined. Seems like there is never enough money. I'm working on that.
    Eating? I can do this. I can make better choices or at least stop the snacking. I can stick to my 1400 cals a day. I can do this.

    Also, I have decided I don't take care of myself anymore and that has to change.
    At least 5 of the 7 nights a week, I am going to start doing a 15 min- 30 min "thing" for myself.
    Some "Me Time".
    (When I have my beloved Kiddo, it will be 'Us Time'.)
    These things include a bubble bath, a manicure/ facial mask, reading (to myself or to Kiddo), doing yoga (with or w/o Kiddo), doing something creative (like journaling, editing a photo for printing, blogging, a craft project, or writing an email or letter to a friend), and even a movie night when time allows.
    Most of these "Me Time" events will take between 15 - 30 minutes. On nights I have Kiddo, I'll choose activities that include her wholly. On nights it's just me, I bet I will find that 30 minutes just isn't enough and start to allow more time for me.

    I am very excited about this decision and cannot wait to put it into action tonight. So many choices!! :smile:

    Hi guys - trying to get back into a routine. I was gone last week to CA for my grandfather's funeral. Got home Friday only to get sick. I've been miserable the last few days. Today is the first day I feel a little bit better. Hopefully, I can kick this cold really soon and get back on my treadmill. Looks like we've had some great losses.     Emmie, I'm a strong believer in LOTS of sleep to get over a cold, as well as not denying yourself too many calories. Kinda let it slide, let your body rest and heal, then come back with a vengeance! I hope you feel better soon!!

    So quick update about me, I didnt have time to weigh in today, i barely had enough time to make my bento box and get out the door in time for class... I am expecting at least a pound or two loss, I ran over 10 mmiles last week, and i stayed within my cals. So honestly i dont know what will emotionally happen to me if I dont show a loss. I would really like to loose 3 or more pounds so that i can reach my goal for this challenge. only loosing one lb last week put stress on these last two weeks. Tomorrow I am also going to take in my inches and see if they have changed any. I am going to meet with a trainer sometime this week, I am ready to go on a full offensive to my weight loss. And I believe a having a trainer is a VERY good idea. I have stuck with running for over three weeks, which means that I am committed this time, So I am REALLY going to go for it. I want to be in the 180s for my 20th birthday, I would really like to wear a size 12 on my birthday... that would make my birthday amazing!!

    Oh in other news I cannot decide If I want to do Zumba tonight, or Yoga, thoughts?? I have NEVER done Yoga before in my entire life, btw... so ... ya... haha

    OH! and I still reallly like Shamrock Shaking Sixers, Ive seen a few others express interest in this name as well, so sixers put it to a vote and figure out a name! haha!

    Hey group I did not get my weigh in in this morning so I will tomorrow. Not looking forward to it cuz I am suppose to be in menopause but am having a period again. Feeling all puffy and bloated! I have continued through with the fitness but have seen the increase in sweets this past week, now I know why! Good job losers, way to hang in there. Welcome to the Sixers Tamara!

    Down another .4 lbs. Slow and steady wins the race. :smile: I have been so busy lately! I went to Atlanta this weekend for a mini-vacation and ate a bunch of great food, but tried to focus on adding in veggies and splitting meals. Then I've worked full days at the office on Monday and today, with another one coming up tomorrow. I don't like working at home ALL of the time, but I don't like working from the office always either! I did log my food at work today though, and then tonight was my "free night" and since it's Fat Tuesday, I went to IHOP and had pancakes for dinner. I haven't decided what I'm giving up for Lent yet, but I'm considering giving up meat or processed foods.

    I hope everyone is doing great. No time to do personals right now since I have more work to do tonight!! I'm hoping to catch up with everyone when I'm working at home Thursday or Friday.

    :-( As much as I wanted to lie... hmmm or at least "pretend" like I saw 148 again... the scale said 150! I am pissed. or wondering if it is lack of sleep, being sick, or eating a whole bunch of salty foods recently. Either way those are excuses... so I will work on it. sigh. I'm so upset! ... ok ok I'm not that upset. I know I will lose it! I just wish I was headed in the right direction!

    Accountability. I think it's the only thing that will change my weight. ... gotta figure out what's going on!

    Oh and Chipper, school is good! On call tomorrow ( another 30 hour shift tomorrow)
