Water

If I drink tea with no sugar or the FUZE drinks with no sugar, does this count as drinking any water for me?

it only counts if you jump up and down while drinking it, to make sure it gets in your water belly and not your food belly.

I too wonder this. I just don't like drinking water. I have never really drank anything except a couple cups of tea each day and maybe one bottle of water on workout days. Is it possible some people just need less?

Posting this just because I wanted to be on the first page of these countless "does this count as water" threads, as if the big SEARCH button was broken or some thing. :smokin:

Woohoo! Now I can scratch another topic off my MFP bucket list: "Things I wanted to do on MPF"

the rule of thumb I have always heard is 'water is only water until you add something to it, then it is no longer water.'

    Then what is it?
    My guess is, it's magic.
Can I interest you in some Q-Ray bracelets?

Absolutely not this ever. Your body takes water from anything you put in it with water- eat cucumbers and the body benefits from the high water content. Even caffeinated beverages are not diuretic enough to countereffect the water they provide. I wouldn't do the FUZE personally because I avoid sweeteners other than stevia based sweeteners. But tea? Of course fresh brewed unsweet tea counts as water to your body.

    Here's a novel idea...

    Drink when you're thirsty
    Weather it's water/tea/coffee/Gatorade...Just drink when you're thirsty

    Don't over think it..

-Also I love your profile picture! Great movie!
  • You know I ask a doctor this a Long time ago. He and the nurse said your body always knows water weather you add something to it or not....

Once I was in the bush and I was really thirsty and I had a big bottle of water but I had stupidly stored some of the wintergreen plants and cranberries I had picked in the bottle. I died of dehydration.
    True story.

As an experiment, drink only that for a week...no water, just your tea. If you're still alive at the end of the week, then yeah, it apparently counts as water. If you're dead, well, it doesn't count.

I suspect you'll be just fine...(but in case you aren't, remember, I am not a doctor (on the internet or IRL...I'm not even an honorary broscientist.)).

Well, here are wbsites to answer your question and prove my point, that even on a molecular level tea is no longer H2O because chemicals from the tea leaves form bonds with chemicals in H20. Enjoy. http://www.teaclass.com/lesson_0204.html, http://www.alltea.com/blog/2012/02/chemistry-tea, http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jf60159a025.

*All* the H2O? Or even *most* of the H2O? Really?

ETA: I just read the links and would now like to add another question: *Any* of the H2O?
