I've been told it goes out the same way it goes in, so if you are drinking before bed drink one big glass at a time so you will have one big pee...not several small trips.

I drank about 18 servings (8 oz servings) of water yesterday and didn't get up to pee in the middle of the night once. I was about to bust when I woke up this morning though!

Can't see how broken sleep is healthy.

Hmm.. Nobody said it was! :ohwell:

I've read in lots of places we're meant to have broken sleep.
    Here's an example:-

Middle of the night? Never. I drink tons of water everyday and have never had to wake up in the middle of the night for a pee-break. I go a lot throughout the day yes but never wake up for it.

I drink around a gallon a day and never get up at night to pee. I stop drinking water a couple hours before I go to bed.

I slack off a little with the drinking after about 2 or 3 PM for that very reason.

If I have anything over 144oz in a day, I get up at least once... maybe twice a night.
  • If you stop drinking water apx 3 hours before bed you should be able to sleep through the night until the 'morning pee' :) I say this and have a hard time following it. If I drink water those last three hours I'm up and going 2-3 times a night. No fun!

I end up getting up once. It all works out though because I just take my thyroid meds when I get up to pee since they have to be taken at least 30 minutes before ingesting anything but water and at least 3 hours after.....taking it in the middle of the night solves that problem! lol

2-3 times a night!? I rarely get up to pee at night and I keep a bottle of water by the bed to drink during the night. I don't track my water but I drink a lot. The only time I have to pee at night is if I drink a lot of beer shortly before going to bed.
