I'm always disappointed in these studies. They never study the things I want them to. How about a diet with pure fat or pure sugar? Do different macros have a synergistic effect? I suspect that it is less damaging to eat either fat or sugar/carbs at any given meal than to combine the two.

I'll +1 caribougal's recommendation to check out Peter's Hyperlipid. He does a really good job pointing out flawed methodologies in studies. Unfortunately he is not a particularly good communicator (for laymen at least), so it's a bit hard to get through his posts, but the information is fantastic.
  • They needed a study for this? Who pays for this shist?

I find myself thinking about his posts when I'm dumping a heap of heavy whipping cream in my coffee.

I always get funny looks when I go through the checkout line with a half-gallon of heavy whipping cream. My last trip somebody asked me "oh! doing some holiday treats?!" ... um... sure.

Last time at the grocery store, I approached checkout with a carton of ice cream and a can of whipped cream. She asked, "Are you ready?" I replied, while holding up my purchases, "To party? Apparently."

LOL. I get cream-top whole milk for my boys, and cream-top whipping cream for my coffee. My little boy loves to eat the cream scooped from the top. But I get it delivered to my door, so I don't have to suffer any funny looks at the market. Here's a funny blog post I wrote about my butcher pressuring me into chugging a bottle of cream: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/728161-my-butcher-made-me-do-it?hl=butcher#posts-10725229

    (I'll bite.)

To whom are you directing your lack of understanding?

    What does this mean?

It means she feels that some individuals post on the message board to amuse themselves without actually utilizing MFP as it is intended to be used.........go figure huh? :p

I really wish she'd clarify so I can find out if she approves of my reasons for using MFP.

But... But... How does she know that about anyone else? Does she see what everyone posts to their friends? Can she see who is logging, who is naughty and who is nice?

I'm assuming her post was directed at me (because I'm paranoid like that), and if so, is interesting since my diary is wide open and complete for every day since July 2011.
