not a great pic, but this is a different take on grilled cheese and tomato soup :)

herby tomato soup with olives and swiss chard, topped with seared haloumi cheese cubes.

    Genius!

Acg- I want that cookie in my mouth. Thanks.
Meag- Always love hearing what you have to say about eating; you're dead on. Deprivation leads to failure; just learn to be in touch with your body and the rest will fall into place.
Pocketmole- That soup looks incredible; definitely going to have to try that!
    Mercina- YUM! You deserve it.

Acq- Your Braciole looks fantastic. It's one of my favorite dishes. What do you put in it? I usually use pine nuts, raisins, mozzarella, bread crumbs, and prosciutto.

Breakfast today was a cinnamon apple oatmeal (steel cut oats)

Thanks :) Most of us here have struggled with food, weight or fitness in one way or another. Some of us more than others. I've lost a lot of weight but also gained some serious hang-ups with food and some really devastating and scary medical problems as a result. Eating enough, getting proper nutrition, and treating your body with respect (including the occasional treats) is how the rest falls into place.

This deprivation mentality gets folks into all kinds of trouble :ohwell: No good at all.

Awesome eats folks. I did 3 hours of spin yesterday for charity and was way too famished to photograph anything. And then I had 3 beers and was too drunk to photograph anything else  Today it's been lazy left over meals, and loads of "recovery" snacking. You know how it goes. I'll be back to cooking up a storm tomorrow!

Continuing my Mexican fixation, tonight's dinner was:

Sweet potato, black bean, and goat cheese tacos with satay tofu. I cannot even begin to describe how delicious these flavours are together.

The tom yum soup looks killer, Kyle. So good. And as always your salmon and veggies looks both healthy and delicious.

Shov - I went to the asian market today and picked up some nori! Sushi burritos are in my future...

sara_m - Sweet tacos! Looks delish! Do you have a recipe for the tofu satay?

Britt- Great pics your food looks wonderful.

I obviously need to get on this halomi kick, but I feel like it's another product we don't have in Canada... I've never even heard of it! I've also now got major cravings for rice paper rolls... That's a weekend event for sure but damn, they are good. Homemade peanut sauce. Mmmm.
