My man's ex brother-in-law used to "growl" as he chewed (this only happened at the dinner table). He was also noisy otherwise and we won't go into his bodily function issues. He seemed to enjoy passing gas when in the restaurant - AND would make a point to be loud and disgusting about it (took sister a little too long to figure things out IMO. Her taste in men hasn't gotten any better, either. I told her it's time to find herself a sugar daddy!).

My little brother chews gum like a cow. My mom makes all these noises after she eats - she has some bridgework (an insert) and she sucks and picks at it - just pull the damn thing out and go wash it! Never realized how disgustingly noisy they were until I met my man. Now I can't help but notice it. I was never like that though. Probably because I'm more self-aware (and many years being very self-conscious) than any of them.

There used to be a guy at my work who would nap randomly during the day and snore REALLY loud! I used to call his phone and let it ring to wake him up, then hang up!
There is another guy with tourette's, so that is always interesting (nothing against him, but he can be loud and random of course).
another guy makes every single call on a LOUD SPEAKERPHONE with his office door open. Why do you need to be on speakerphone unless it is a long conference call? Pick up the handset jerk.

That would be so cool working with someone with tourett's lol

I have a coworker who every time she takes a drink immediately goes "ahhh". It's like the Seinfield episode.

Yes. The noise of people breathing/eating makes me clench my teeth so hard, it makes my jaw ache. It's either clench my teeth or punch someone in the face. RAAAAGE.

omg, I am so happy I have a diagnosable disorder!! maybe I will qualify for medical assistance and even get special treatment in the work environment! Finally, I am being recognized. And this! "Ironically misophonia very rarely causes the patient to be annoyed by their own sounds" So me.

My coworker did that and spoke to herself. One day I got sick of it and said, "I will stab you."

    She never did it again...

That being said, I later found out that her ex husband was in jail for attempting to stab her.

    True story bro.

    you- "how is that snack?"

    co-worker- "ooooh, it's so good."

you- "yeah, it really sounds like you are enjoying it.... a lot."

    co-worker- ::confused look::

she'll get it after a while.

and if not, just pop your head up and say "close your mouth, please" over and over until she just stops.

Actually, I have gone this route on several occasions. She "gets" it, but she thinks I'm "just giving her a hard time." I don't think she really understands the seriousness of the situation. :explode:

Okay, then secretly sprinkle alum on all their snacks.
