Good day!

I know there are probably 2 million posts about this, but I'm still gonna ask.

What are your fitness/nutrition goals for 2013? For those who make resolutions, what are they?

My goals are:

1) Make smarter food choices/try new foods
2) Reduce body fat and build muscle
3) Kick up my tennis game a notch or two and really improve my game so I can kick a** when the tournament season starts
4) Complete P90X
5) Be happy!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

I don't really make resolutions as 9/10 they are broken. So I have some goals but they can be adjusted if need be.

    - Lose at least 50lbs
    - Have chest surgery
    - Get childcare experience so I can go on the adoption course
    - Continue to do my physio and start pacing upwards (I'm currently back down to baseline due to being ill and going through a flareup).
    - Get to the pool for disabled swimming every week unless ill, away or recovering from surgery
    - See dietitian to start on Low FODMAP diet (been recommended by my neurogastroenterologist).
    - Use my exercise bike every other day.
    - Be happy and celebrate 10 years of my wife and I being together and 5 years of being married.

I don't really have any goals that are tied to the change of the year. Not sure if it's a good or a sad thing to be goalless, though.

My goals are to continue to make healthy food choices, exercise more, and to lose 30 lbs. It is a struggle but one worth doing.

It's a really good idea to reflect and think about how you want to change things up.

I am very serious about losing my body fat %. I am going to set a goal for 1% per month. My goal is 12% body fat by December 2013. I'm at close to 20% right now. If I stick to it, I should hit it by August or so...maybe before, but I'm allowing some slop. I'm also adding variables, such as vacations, which set me back a little.

    1. Keep on the healthy eating and fitness path that I'm on now. Ideally I'd like to get to my goal weight before 2013 is out, but I'll get there when I get there.
    2. In my virtual ride around the Equator (which I'm doing on my mini-bike at home), I should be approaching the longitude of Samoa by the end of 2013. :-)
    3. Keep learning the ever-changing nuances of balancing the demands of caregiving with my own health, fitness, and well-being and the rest of my life. That means eating and exercising in a manner that's sustainable over the long term.

    In 2013 I hope to:
    -Reach 18% body fat
-Ride a century in less than 9 hours
-Eliminate 1/3 of my debt (it's over $50k, so this will be a challenge!)

Debt elimination is a good one. Unfortuately, that's more like a 5-year plan.

    Go back to the gym.
  • - Try and get more involved with my education.
    - Start with a regular lifting program.
    - Try and keep in a calorie deficit nearly every day until I reach desired body fat % and weight.

I love setting goals and I believe that they can always be modified as needed to fit with your life circumstances. With that being said, mine are:

    1) Reducing body fat % (Have not really decided on a # yet, just want to lower it.)
    2) Iron Warrior Dash 9/13
    3) Survive year 2 of grad school
    4) Allow myself to be photographed in a bikini (I always wear one, but shun the photos. This year, I hope I am confident enough to change that)

    More mass, less fat.

I don't have a set goal or timeline, but that is it!

    1) Lose the last 8 lb and reach my Goal weight
    2) Get Body Fat % below 20% (currently 22.9%)
    3) Start and finish the Insanity workout at least once
    4) Complete my first Olympic Standard Triathlon (in less than 3 hours if possible, but just finishing would be awesome!!)

Tears in my eyes after typing these goals. I honestly cannot believe how far I've come. This time last year I was at my heaviest (BMI 34.1) and a few weeks away from being strapped up to the EKG machine in the ER with a suspected heart attack.

I'm going to go hug my girls :flowerforyou:

Seconded. Vague goals won't get you anywhere.

I don't make new year resolutions, because they will be broken. I will keep doing what I've been doing. Exercising and eating healthier.

I've made so many healthy changes in the last year and I want to continue on that path of improving my health.

    - never go more than 2 days in a row without doing some sort of intentional exercise.
    - eat out less. and when I make a conscious decision not to eat out, that money is going into a vacation jar.
    - eat in more. experiment with new recipes.

    1) More rock climbing!
    2) Get down to goal weight.
    3) Add more veggies and fruit into my meals.
    4) Have an exciting honeymoon camping and hiking and exploring this summer.

Oh, and come this November, if we're both at our goal weight, to start making babies. :p

    2013 Goals

    1. Maintain current weight and body fat %.
    2. Improve squat weight
    3. Finish 1/2 Marathon in May around 2 HRS
    4. Possibly run a full marathon in the fall
    5. Be able to do handstand push-ups
  • My goals are to lose approx 80lbs, that is not set in stone because I don't want to be "thin" I want to be lean. Curvy with lovely definition. Think more positively. I am seriously my own worst enemy and put myself down so much it gets hard to stay on track sometimes, esp with lack of support in the home. I want to learn to make better food choices and get back to loving me for me and loving my body.
Small steps at a time though

Good luck everyone on your goals!!!
