A nice little dessert is 1 teaspoon of your favorite jelly/jam added to 1/2 cup cottage cheese, oh my gosh it's wonderful!! Another trick I found is if you drain and rinse off cottage cheese it's almost like cheese curds and can be used in veggie lasagna, jus sayin...0

Personally, I like eating it by itself or on a cracker. But my mother is a fan of eating a cup of cottage cheese with 3-4 slices of peaches. She thinks that is a great combination.0

I don't like my cottage cheese mixed with sweet things (like fruit). I like cottage cheese with a lot of fresh ground black pepper and I eat it with a spoon.0

Eat it plain and 1 serving is plenty for a snack. You can add a serving of frozen berries to it if you like but keep it low cal0

I like it mixed with pineapple with a bit of cinnamon sprinkled on it. I also like it plain or with a bit of black pepper. I also blend it smooth and use it for dips, salad dressings or to replace sour cream on baked potato. You can use a generous amount without sacrificing all the fat grams.0

I love it plain, but only the full fat stuff. I made the mistake of trying to make myself eat the ff and low fat versions for awhile. YUCK! I stick to the good stuff now.
I usually have it a couple times a day. I eat 1/2 cup either plain, with some sriracha in it, or with fruit...usually fresh cut pineapple.

I decided to switch to no salt cottage cheese due to the RIDICULOUS high amount of sodium in it. So now I eat:
1/4 c no salt cottage cheese
1/4 c strawberry greek yogurt
102 calories, 11g carbs, 12g protein, 1g fat
(and most importantly only 48mg sodium)
LOVE IT!0 -
I eat it with chopped tomatoes and cumin.
Now that sounds awesome!0 -

on top of my scrambled eggs in the morning :happy:0

I use about a 1/4 cup with or without a small amount of fruit almost every day. It's low in calories and high in protein not to mention the calcium all women need. My dietician suggested it and I like it so it works.0

I'll typically eat a half cup daily... if not more. It's always the 2% milkfat 30% lower sodium breakstone.0

I love cottage cheese. I usually just eat a serving (1/2 cup) at a time, either by itself with a spoon, or cut a cantaloupe in half and throw the cottage cheese in the hole. Or scramble it with my eggs.
Cottage cheese is delicious.0 -
1/2 c. cottage cheese (1%) mixed with no sugar added 1/2 c. fruit (mandarin oranges are my favorite)
it's also really good with pears and pineapples. some people swear by peaches but i don't like that at all.
adds up to about 120 calories = score!0 -
I always though cottage cheese made people fat.
When I was a kid, only fat people ate cottage cheese....and here I am eating cottage cheese.
I LOVE IT!
I mix it with fruit or just cook with it, replacing any cheese call for with the cottage variety.0 -

2 ways I eat half a cup to one cup depending on how much protein I need.
1) add sliced green olives and grape tomatoes
2) sriracha and lots of it!0 -
bump for all these good ideas.0

I eat cottage cheese almost every day and love it. That said I prefer some brands to others. Try a low fat 1% or 2% cottage cheese. Open the container and using a spoon taste it. It mixes well as you know with fruit like melon and berries but also with pasta or any of the ways people are suggesting.0

I stay away from cottage cheese because of the sodium0

Someone on another one of these threads convinced me to use it in scrambled eggwhites.... Fabulous!!!0

1 cup cottage cheese
1/2 Yali pear (crispy like an Asian/Apple pear)
1/4 cup walnut bits
1 tspn Saigon cinnamon0 -
I never like cottage cheese until recently a friend suggested I eat it with splenda and some sliced almonds mixed in. now I can't get enough of it for a high protein snack. I have 1-2 servings at a time and sometimes cut out the almonds if i am concerned about the calories.0

I'm blessed I dont like flavor. Sometimes I eat it in a bowl other times I eat it out of the container. The one thing I learned a long time ago was not to by the cheap cottage cheese it is grose.0

I don't eat it anymore because of the sodium, but when I did, I loved it just plain.0
