    After reading everyone's replies I feel rather shocked and embarrased.. and emptied my essentials into a smaller purse!!!
    the strangest items I found were:

    1) Tire pressure gauge
    2) Temp Funeral director license from my practicum in 08
    3) What I choose to call a "stress" rock (kinda like a stress ball)
    4) A nursing pad (haven't needed since april)
    5) Alcohol Prep pads/Hypo needle and an empty 1ml vial of B-12 Wrapped inside of a pair of gloves in a glasses case to practice with
    6) Giant mass of toy keychains
    7) A case with contacts (I don't wear contacts... whose eyes do I have!?)
    8) A black ink pad from when my daughter had her footprint taken at birth
    9) Leslie Sansone dvd
    10) Hospice "What to expect" pamphlets

    I think my purse may be 10 pounds lighter now =\
