Eating for the sake of it...

We have lots of Christmas chocolates left and I'm eating them just because they're there.

I know I don't want them. I am not hungry. They do not even satisfy me after I eat them.

WHY do I keep eating them and HOW can I stop it???

I can't throw them out because my family want to eat them...

Throw them out. If they ask, say someone must have eaten them all. Set yourself up for success!

And you keep eating them because you're addicted to them. You think they're going to taste good, fill you up, etc., but they never will...
  • hello love =)

"you are not hungry. stop eating." that's what I'd like to say, I'm not an emotional/boredom-eater so that would be the obvious thing to me.. but: if you feel like eating yummy choco.. eat it! eat a portion. but enjoy it, as in, really, ENJOY it so much you make the choco feel like it's in a p0rn movie.

how about going for a walk whenever you feel like stuffing yourself with something even though a) you don't want to eat b) you aren't hungry c) it's not satisfying you? tell your family you're struggling and help them help you. sorry if this is of no help, I really don't eat if I don't feel the need so it's hard to imagine.

I have the same problem. There's a box of MnMs just screaming my name, but if I do not open it- I won't eat it all. If I so much as touch it- it's gone. My husband hates to throw things away, so I am putting these things in his lunches to rid them from the house. I've eaten my fair share though. I will say that I am PROUD of myself that I have no eaten that stupid box of MnMs. It feels like the biggest NSV ever.

I think I'm going to have my teenagers eat them. Today. When I'm in another room..

    You can do this!

Seeing the amount of calories i have left to consume for the day depreciate after I have a treat is enough to make me not want to eat it. I'd rather not "waste" those precious calories, then say, have two of something else that would actually satisfy me. But deprivation is not the way to go, so maybe have half after all your basic nutritional needs are met for the day. Tracking everything has helped me a lot this holiday season !

    Stay Strong !
  • Put them somewhere you wont see them...OUTTA SITE, OUTTA MIND! I am having the same problem and, actually, we ARE throwing them out tonight. I have a few of a certain kind that i am giving away but, other then that, BUH BYE, in the trash...or outside for the Birdies...or with my step-daughter back to her Mommy's house...LOL!!

GOOD LUCK!!!! I need to stop the sugar or lose more and more energy so, I have to toss them. I just LOVE the taste and LOVE a couple of my christmas cookies but, i know i cant have them...it is rough to WALK AWAY but, WE CAN DO IT!!!!

Hide them. If they're not in front of you, you'll be less tempted. Tell the family where they are and that if they get left out, you will be tossing them.
  • Throw them away or give them away. I had tons of left over cakes and pies after Christmas and I wanted to keep them to have a little late, but decided I can not control myself very well sometimes so I gave it all away to neighbors and family members.
