REALLY? Are you kidding me?

I lost my job over 2 years ago and the first thing I did was go home, pull on a pair of old sweats, turn on the tv and sit on the couch. I haven't done much since. I knew I was gaining weight because I was eating things that had not been a part of my normal diet for years...This morning 3 things happened that just might get me off the couch...I was looking through Christmas pictures and came across a particular one that I didn't recognize. It was ME! I went in search of the scales and was appalled! I took my measurements and almost cried. I've gained close to 60 lbs! I sat on the couch and just kept repeating to myself, REALLY? Are you kidding me? (I thought maybe 25-30) Then an ad for MFP came on tv, I grabbed my computer and here I am. I've been depressed for months over many things but I know to get out of this slump, this weight has to come off. I'm leaving now and going to a local consignment shop with all my sweats and sleep pants and trade them in for some fat jeans. I know getting out of the sweats is my first step. Right now I'm motivated and determined...but I know I'm going to need a lot of support and encouragement. Good Luck and Thanks to all for hearing me out and so nice to meet everyone!:noway:

I know exactly what you mean. I gained around fifty pounds without realizing it because I worked from home and wore yoga pants and pajama pants all the time. It was really easy to blame the tighter fit on, "Well, I must have left them in the dryer too long."

Now, I get rid of my fat jeans as soon as they're too big on me. If my current jeans start to get tight, I know it's time to re-evaluate my eating and buckle down. Having fat jeans around makes it too easy to pull them out of the closet and ignore the real issue.

The same thing happened to me. We had a kid and a year later I was 70 lbs up. It wont be easy but "If it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change you."
Using this app to simply see how what we eat affects us is truly eye opening. Keep the faith.
