yes, a Londoner. Would be great to have some more UK support - feel free to add me. I love food, eating out and cooking and am partial to the occasional tipple (this is where my weight gain comes from rather than comfort eating etc..) so if you have that in common it would be great to be your MFP pal.

Not an Englishwoman, but a German who enjoys her 5 o'clock tea ;)
  • Wooo, me! I need UK friends, I don't really "do" all that "Way to go!!!!!!!!!" and "you got this girl!!!!!!!!!!!", "Good job!!!!!!!" and "nice burn!!!!!!!!!" on peoples posts, so they keep deleting me. Oh well, I'm really unpopular in real life too. Must use more txt abbreviations.

    WTG!!! OMG!!!!

Evening from sunny..sorry...dark, dank and cold Kent.

There's a few of us on here...I think.

Feel free to add if you want a few more localish people.
kent? Where abouts? I'm from Kent too :) x
  • I'm not being unkind or typically "British" and stuck-up....its just that personally, I feel that posting an abbreviation meant to infer congratulations, doesn't really amount to support in the traditional sense.

I would rather say something constructive in response to somebody struggling, or worrying, or being confused about something. Just generally enthusing about every diary entries seems a bit superficial to me, so I say nothing - maybe that makes me an unsupportive friend?

BTW I'm not criticising anyone who provides support in that way, it isn't unappreciated - I accept that I get fewer comments on the basis that I don't deliver 100's of responses to daily diary closures or activities, but I do respond to people's posts looking for help or an actual comment about something.

    Jeez, I really AM British aren't I. :)

That's because you is a mermaid.

Now THAT's more like it. Down here in 'aaaaaaammpshire we say "Gooooo on then!!"

Actually I could really take these seriously.............
