Is anyone else anorexic?

Hey girl. I think this site will be great for you. I struggled with anorexia back in middle school, and I really had no idea how much I needed to eat for my height and age. This site will calculate all that and hopefully help you relearn how to eat right.
Also, these forums are full of people striving for fitness and health, and that will hopefully help change your perspective Wishing you all the best in your recovery.0 -
I'm in recovery right now. If you ever need anyone to talk to, I totally understand. I hope you continue seeking help. Best of luck.0

Hey there, I'm 24 and currently 5'6" and 138 lbs. I have anorexic tendencies, but I've been fortunate enough to fight them off most of the time. I have pretty severe body dysmorphia and when I look at myself in the mirror I see a very, very obese, very ugly woman. It's difficult breaking that state of mind especially when you are looking at yourself judgmentally and weighing yourself every day. I've had to make myself say nice things about my body when I look in the mirror. Such as "I like my bum, it's a great bum." Or, "I have very toned calves" or even "My eyes look very green today." Anything to help break that cycle is useful. When I was studying during my first year of college, I would fast one day a week and then the week before finals (dead week) I would fast for that entire week. Recently, I've been trying to get into better shape to be able to feel better about my looks, but I won't allow myself to fall below 120 lbs.
*hugs* I wish you the best.0 -
To the OP, you have gotten some great advice here... it's all up to you as to whether or not you take it. One bet says that in the long run you would be happy you did. Good luck to you! You have a whole lot of wonderful life left to live! :flowerforyou:0

Hi
I am not anorexic, however I wanted to say that I am glad that the website is helping you put things in perspective. I pray you have a safe journey and long lived life. Knowing your fight and struggle is the first step, glad you are able to recognize it.
Take Care
Amen on this.
I see girls on here that are anorexic and I recognized that, although not to an extreme, food or control of it, is an easy thing to fall in to (as far as being obsessed). I pray for these girls because they don't know how beautiful they are and it's so sad that they are so unhappy. It really is a chemical imbalance of the brain. Eat to be and feel healthy. Don't allow this to control you. I think that first step in recognizing it is HUGE and as long as you keep reminding yourself that you are stronger and better and deserve this - you can get past it.0 -
Dear Users,
I have locked this thread for a few reasons:
First-it was resurrected from January
Second- the OP has not posted since March
Third- the reason it was allowed to stay up in the beginning is because the OP was seeking help.
The responses were kind and helpful at that time, and so we let it the thread just die.
Thank you for understanding, and have a great weekend!
