I looked at those too, but they did not have them in my size and I was too lazy to run to another kohls. I have done about 6 miles on the treadmill with mine. I felt it mostly this morning in my upper legs. Time will tell if they actually change the way my legs look!

Hi all, I hope you had good weekends. I am feeling a little bit out of it today. I was up a little weight wise and I a sure it is hormones. (its hard to tell anymore with menopause coming on) I am glad that I made my 5 pound goal for the month. I am just going to focus on not gaining anything back for the next few days. I am also really stressed about the Unemployment thing that congress didn't finalize before they recessed. I cannot survive without the unemployment compensation. You would think an intelligent MBA in finance with years of experience could get a job but things are tough out there. Any way. trying to keep my chin up.

I am sorry that finding a job is so tough. I do home daycare and in the last year I have had 2 of 6 parents totally lose their jobs and 1 get cut back. It is a tough job market out there and I am worried it won't get better soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Its not easy trying to find a job in this climate. I also know it is hard to pick-up and move if there is a job somewhere else because the housing market also sucks. Hang in there. Hopefully something comes along soon!

Thanks for the nice thoughts. I am sure something will come up. I can't move, my husband has been with Boeing for 24 years so we aren't going anywhere. That just makes it that much harder to find a job. I KNOW that it will all work out. :glasses:

Jane - Congratulation on the 5 pounds lost already this month! You are on the way down, down down. Don't you just love the feeling? Glad that you joined the group and feel the support.:flowerforyou:

Ireed - we did have a fun time at the amusement park. Actually ended up going today instead of yesterday. The little boy that we took happened to know the owner of the park since his mom's brother married the owners daughter so he let us in FREE! Can't beat that price! We rode a bunch of rides and played some of those games and ended up getting lots of tokens or prize tickets so this little boy got stuffed animals and gifts for his mom and grandma. I packed a lunch to take with us so didn't end up eating any junk food. Got home and had about an hour, ( just enough time to shower and get re dressed) and then went out to a HS musical OLIVER. It was fun. Just got home now and it is about 10:30. I'm about ready to drop off to sleep.

Terri - WAY COOL shopping spree! I LOVE KHOLs! Must say I am way jealous that you get to go shopping there. I go in the summer and buy cart loads full of clothes to bring back here with me. Then they send me discount coupons all year and my mom uses them. They send them to my moms address since that is the one I use when I am in the states. So she lucks out on those coupons. I don't mind though, just glad that some one can use them. I am so going to hit KHOLS when I get to the states this summer.

Kim - Good on you getting those groceries stocked up and NO booze. You are on your way to a successful week. When I don't have healthy food in the house it is so easy to just grab anything and then I feel bad after I swallow! Healthy food makes me feel so much better. It is amazing that I have been eating junk for so long and thinking it was o.k.! :ohwell:

Karin, - Didn't see Jamie Oliver show and don't even know who he is. I know you probably think i am out of it. Sometimes I feel I live in outer space! But he show did sound interesting. You say funny things about your teenager! I bet you have a good relationship with him. Glad you are fine with 130 0r 131. I would personally be thrilled to see 130! You must be tiny, tiny, tiny! And all that lifting. You must be strong strong strong too.

and Jacque - HI hope all is going well with you today too. How is IDAHO?
Phyllis, so glad you had fun at the amusement park and you did great food wise, is just a big free bonus! Free, how GREAT!!!
The Jamie Oliver show is great, you can go on line at Hulu.com if you want to watch it. I have been watching it with my daughter!

Kim, I need to ask, are you personally acquainted with that lizard in your pool or did he just drop by?

RJ - the job situation just sucks, I'm so sorry you're going through it. I have many friends in that situation and our mantra is that we just have to make it to the end of the summer. It keeps us all going. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for something to come up for you.

I am on a water for dinner regime tonight. I went to the movies with my teens and moronically ate some of their popcorn (with the "butter") so now I'm doing penance. That stuff bloats you up so bad that I look seven months pregnant.

But oh well. We saw How to Tame Your Dragon, it was really sweet - I got teary. But maybe that was hormones.

Lreed, I used to be tiny. I can't believe it but in 1983 I weighed between 99 and 103. Then I quit smoking. But I didn't have much muscle tone back then, so I'd never want to go back there. I have a fantasy about looking like Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2, doing pull ups, etc. But then I think pull ups or daquiris, pull ups or daquiris. it's such a dilemma.

I spent most the first half of the movie UP teary eyed. But, I still love that movie.

I want arms like Linda Hamilton had. Heck I would be happy to be able to do a pull-up. For me its red wine.

I wish I could say I was small at one time so I would know how it is going to look, but I have been battling weight since I hit puberty.

Hope you have a great day!

No, that a picture I took in Mexico...the resort has dozens running around...the boys thought it was the coolest thing

I, personally, like my dogs....I have a German Shepard/Husky mix who is old and wise and a Border Collie who loves to chase cars and cause near accidents. My daughter has a horse, Buddy. We also have a cat, Bear and a water turtle, Tommy

What's a pull-up? LOL. When you pull the drink to your mouth.

That is the only kind of pull up I can do. I never could do a pull up even when I was really fit in highschool. I swam, did gymnastics and dove but I couldn't do a pull up. so a liitle side story, My daughter has lost 30 pounds in the last 6 months. she works out with her new boyfriend (ex special forces dude) so she works hard. She called me last Thursday and screamed into the phone " Mom, I did a pull up!!!!!!!) She can now do two and is really pushing herself. (Proud Mom Moment here)

Wow RJ - I could never do a pull up either - your daughter must be working hard.

Spring Break is really annoying this year. Trying to grab workout time is challenging and planning what to eat when we do Magic Mountain and all those other Gd awful places is horrible - do I sneak it in? Don't they check bags? Do I strap the veggies to my leg and can they arrest me for it and what does that communicate to my kids - my right to eat healthy food is above the law?

    Aggghhhh!

I have 2 friends doing this diet where they take a liquid... HGC I think .... They can eat a protein, 2 veggies, 1 fruit for lunch and the same for dinner. It's about 550 calories a day. The HGC is supposed to be a harmone that women produce when pregnant. Has anyone ever heard of this. I asked if it was safe and one of friends said that it was. She couldn't lose 1 lb a week. Who can do that and stay motivated. Well girls and guys.... we can! We are doing it everyday. I was very proud of myself and all the people on MFP. Good job to us!

I agree, healthy and strong is better than tiny (then again I have NEVER been tiny) I think my lowest weight was 140 at 5'6 (but that was pretty skinny) I am goaling 170-180, but I gotta tell ya, I got some big guns right now, my arms are pretty ripped. I need to lose the weight from my mid section! Good luck with those arms Karinf! I am working on push ups right now! Pull ups will be next!

Izzypup - there was a thread recently about HCg which you can search for. Alot of people weighed in with very different opinions, so it's worth a read. I have no knowlege about it - a friend did it in the early eighties - but 550 calories doesn't seem like a really good idea

    March 1st weight 181

Not sure why I am up 2 pounds from last week. Hopefully water weight. Since my hysterectomy I still go through my monthly cycle (without a period) but it is very sporadic. Hope everyone else has a better final weigh in.

Woohoo! I hit the five pound goal............ just barely. I weighed 134 at the start of March and this morning I weighed in at 129. The weight is coming off much more slowly and I really didn't think I would hit the five pounds. I did lose two inches around my waist this past month, along with little losses around my body. We shall see what April will bring. Hopefully I will hit the five pound loss,
    My Goal- 124 pounds!!

Wow the months has whizzed by. Congratulations Angelwings on the weight loss.
Terri, Surely the gain today was water retention. We'll see by Friday if you are down again. I am sure you will be.
I lost 5.5 pounds this month Feeling great. I think today I will get out the sewing machine and take in a few of my baggy pants. I took in a t-shirt this morning before I went out because it was too loose. took my measurements and lost an inch in my waist, one in my thighs, one in my hips and even one in my bust! Life is great! It has not been easy but it has been worth it. I like the slow and steady progress. Each week one pound doesn't sound like too much but it all adds up.

    SW 159
    3/1 - 150.5
    3/5 - 149!
    3/12 - 147
    3/19 - 146
    3/26 - 145
    3/31 - 145

Good luck everyone and can't wait to start APRIL and see what happens next month as well.

Angelwings, Terri, Phylis and others "losers"., congrats. That is great. I'm still in the lurks. I'm down at my mother's, gottat take her in this am for some minor surgery, but I weighed on her scale and I made the 5 lb. loss by 2 lbs. But, you know how scales can vary. I'll weigh in on my won tomorrow and report. At any rate, I'm celebrating.
Spring break is a downer here as well, Its cold, rainy, sometimes snowy. I drove the 2 hr. trip to mom's yesterday and went the gamit of weather. Started with drizzle, then rain, then snow. And that was fefore i even left town. Later getting down here it was just rainy off and on with patched of blue sky, but cold (20s - 30s). Ya gotta love the weather in Idaho.
Good luck on the job hunting rj. I know the right job is out there waitng for you and needs your talent.
Terri, we will continue this next month, right?
    Checking in tomorrow,

I plan to continue this challenge next month also. I think we have found a great group of supportive and dedicated people.
Your drive sounds like the one we did on Christmas day. We left my parents and it was snowing hard with very little visibility. The drifts were so high we did not think the four wheel drive was going to make it. The further east we drive the lighter the snow became and by the time we were an hour from our house it was raining. That was an odd one for Minnesota. Yesterday was in the 70's. This has been a strange spring but after the long cold winter it feels good.

I will start a new thread tomorrow and post the link here so everyone can find us.

Snack time is almost over so I better get the little ones out of their high chairs.

    March 19 173.5

    March 31 171

March was a great month for me. You ladies rock with your support. I hope I can keep it up thru April so I can celebrate my first wedding anniversary at the weight I got married! (165) Unemployement right after the honeymoon put on the 13 plus pounds.:blushing:

Wow - look at what we did! Congrats everybody for losing and maintaining and hanging in no matter what.

I really feel my win this month was not so much the loss, but the staying with it, and I have you all to thank for that. Next month should be an interesting process. I've only managed to weigh less than this before (as an adult) through obsession, punishment, suffering and unrealistic workout schedules, so this will be a new experience.

My official weigh in is 129.5 which is 4.5 pounds down, and I'm happy with that. I might make the 5 pounds by tomorrow am, but I'm going to the Happiest Flipping Place On Earth today so I'm not holding my breath!

Angelwings - we're just about in the same place - that's so cool.

OK, I was up 0.2 lb for the month which is OK since 3 weeks of the month were not focused on logging my intake and logging my exercise. It could have been a nasty weight gain.

I will be happy with after 6 months, maybe I have learned to eat foods that are somewhat healthy and in moderation as a way of life...making better choices, which is really hard with a full bar and buffet for a week

June 19th, I will be participating in the warrior dash...5K obstacle race (jumping fire, mud crawling)...at the end waiting is an ice cold beer. So, I need to build endurance running and building strength so I can climb the walls

10 weeks to prepare....Goal of 1 to 2 lb weight loss per week...total loss by race day is 10 to 20 lbs

    Happy April everyone!!!!

I will weigh in the morning. I just wanted to say that I finally see my endricrinologist in the morning and I will discuss with her why weight loss is so very slow for me - is it just the diabetes or is there something else going on or maybe I just need to be even more strict with my food. I am exercising every day so I feel like I'm good there. I do hope that I have at least lost another pound tomorrow. I will let y'all know after my appt.
