Ok so im not asking for a magic weight loss pill cause i know there isnt one. :ohwell:
I've been counting calories, drinking tons of water and just started working out. :drinker:
My problem is that after working out and burning tons of calories, i not only eat my dinner, but everything else in sight!
i was hoping for a protein shake referral or a amino acid one so that i can be less sore as well... i don't know much about that stuff, just wanna stop munching and wanna replace with a shake of some sort.
im not trying to gain, im trying to lose weight, muscle definition and reduce snacking.
Thanks!

I use Lean 15. It is 100 calories and 15 grams of protein. If I do it for breakfast I am not hungry for like 4 hours (whichi is good for me, usually its like 2 hrs).It is chocolate and teastes really good (they have vanilla too). I usually do it with almond milk and that adds calories. you can do it with water just use less water so it isnt washed out.0

I bought the Whey Protein powder at Walmart and its not bad Im just learning about it but I think if you just had a scoop of it in either water or skim milk when you get home or right after your work out that would keep you from wanting to eat everything in sight. I have had the same problem. I work out and then feel starving so I eat and totally undo what I just did. So I have only had the shake twice but I can say it does help make me feel full for awhile. Its only like 130 calories with water and has about 26g of protien. Just a suggestion!0

I've used natural appetite suppressants in the past and they always end up backfiring. They work for a while but then your body is so hungry that you eat everything in site. The only thing that even SORT OF works long term for me has been caffeine. And then you have to worry about jitteriness, not being able to sleep, etc.
Just make sure you're eating above your BMR (which is nowhere near 1200 cals), getting enough of each of your macros (especially protein) and drinking plenty of water. Once your body levels out and adjusts to getting enough of everything it needs, your appetite will work in your favor.0 -
I wouldn't worry. You should be eating your calories back. You should also lift heavy weight to change your shape so your pant size starts to get smaller.
At 5ft9 how many calories do you eat a day?0 -
shakes do. not. work. for me at. all.
at all.
I do usually have success with some type of legumes.
something like your own veggie burgers, chili, lentil soup, minestrone soup
any of those sound good?
there are also some great protein bar recipes on here, if you're needing something more portable.0 -

i did some research on bodybuilding.com and i learned that i would need for building muscles: vitamins, protein powder, and BCAAs... i just need a suggestion on which one is a good one to take since ive never had one of preference.0

Up your protein and fiber. Replace your cheeto's and M&M's with fruits and veggies. Aim for two gallons of water if you're training hard. I find that coffee suppresses hunger and it's a better option to pill popping0

this is too long of a discussion....
either you are undereating, or you aren't eating enough of the right kinds of foods to fill you up (like protein), or you just need to use your fricken will power.0 -

coffee is the nectar of the gods!
...um and your abs are the abs of my dreams! *divine!*0 -

I use this too! =D you can find it at WalMart.... also - I was having the same problem you were. I basically have to eat lots of fillers. Do this:
Fluid, Filler, Food
1. Drink some water.
2. Eat/Drink a filler (protein shake, bag of steamable veggies - I do a whole bag of steamable brocolli!)
3. Food - what it is you actually want to eat for dinner... i.e. a steak .
This shoould keep you really full and feed your body what its looking for post workout. Hope the FFF works for you!0 -
caffeine.
coffee is a natural appetite suppressant.0 -
also, try to pay attention to how you feel after the workouts. are you hungry after every workout?
more hungry after weights or cardio?
I often find I'm less hungry after cardio than I normally would be, and many people find they are super hungry after weights.
also, maybe you could structure your eating more on the days you are doing the hardest workouts, heavy lifting or plyo leg days.
then you're building muscle and you can eat more cals that day.0 -
I'm 5'9" and i TRY to eat 1200/cals a day but usually go over.. on days that i work out i eat a little more. im still a size 7 though, so thats why im working out.I wouldn't worry. You should be eating your calories back. You should also lift heavy weight to change your shape so your pant size starts to get smaller.

you don't have to have protein powder. after workout snacks can just as easily be nuts, seeds, your own protein bar.....0

Try a 5 Hour Energy. Grape flavor is my current favorite.0

those things don't really work. Be very careful with having protein shakes and stuff if you're trying to lose because a lot are really high in sugar, high in fat, and not all that good for you. Instead of relying on that you should just eat foods with more protein, more fiber, those things will keep you full longer. And if you have issues with eating anything that's in the house, throw away all the bad foods so you only have good foods to snack on (cut up veggies, some fruit, shredded chicken, edemame, unsalted nuts, plain oatmeal, whole grain rice, quinoa) things like that.
Once your body gets more used to the diet and exercise you won't feel as hungry, so it takes a bit of willpower for a few weeks.0 -
A company called "North Coast Naturals" makes the best protein shake I've been able to find. It has 24 grams of protein and only 2 grams of carbs. It also contains no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Most importantly, the chocolate flavour tastes great with 1% milk. For around 220 calories it fills me up for hours.

Yeah, OP, you're 5'9" and 127.
I'd say you don't need to lose any more weight, not everyone can be a VS model (which is what you are striving for according to your profile.)0 -

You are 5'9, 127 lbs, working out like crazy and only eating 1200 cals because you want to be a VS model.
I'd say all of the above is the problem. Well, not how much you weigh and how tall you are, but how little you are eating particularly in light of how much you exercise, and what you are using as your goal.0 -
