Nope. I go to the gym, I work out and log that. Anything else is extra. Don't need to know all!!

It should be included in your daily activity level..

Some people aren't so young and spry as to be able to include it as a *daily* activity. That's been wishful thinking for about 15 years now. (Wait, my daughter's almost 16....add nine months...) For almost 17 years now... :ohwell:

Some people aren't getting it consistently so I don't think it should be considered under daily activity level..lol.

HOLY COW. Semen IS listed in the food database LMAO.

Oh yeah it is..and it seems the sodium level is pretty up there...roflmao

I have never looked up the nutritional value..but someone sure did. Kudos to whoever it was for doing your research..lmao!

We're gonna need a lotta teaspoons.

Damn we're gonna get locked out. Aren't we?

    hahaha..possibly...but it goes by squirt...lmao. I'm serious. I couldn't make this up if I tried..hahaha
There is one in the db that does go by squirt...and one by tablespoon....they don't seem to match up nutrition wise....I hate it when they put in inaccurate info :(

...maybe the other one isn't homemade...where does the generic stuff come from?

Too bad this wasn't asked on a Friday. It would already have been on page 17 or 18 by now.

At our age (66&70) with our joint problems there isn't much exercise involved but I'm finding this thread very entertaining, so keep posting!:drinker: :drinker:

I used to, just to be a **** about how much sex I was having and write things like "do you guys think I should add an extra 50 calories for the spanking? It burns calories to heal, right?".

I never even thought about this. I think I've been in starvation mode for years.

So THAT explains why I haven't been losing! I didn't even think of those calories! :grumble:

I think we're in the same boat on much of this, Emma. And I know my intake would definitely need to be measured more than teaspoons :ohwell:

i have a separate entry for "alone time" I found a calories burned calculator that will tell you how many calories you burned for practically anything and transfered it to MFP :P
  • Other cardio... For example:

jofjltncb6 burned 19 calories doing 3 minutes of "Other cardio..."

    :drinker:

    *chuckles*

The most conservative estimate I've seen for how many calories sex burns per hour is about the same (at least for my height, weight, and gender) as yoga and pilates. Which make sense, because all three are about positions.

Now, the real question is how many calories men burn making up for the semen they've expended. Or is that part of daily activities?

Well for example, and only an example. If I'm the one doing all the work...than shouldn't I get to log hers as my own. Ok I'm being silly now I'll stop. But what do we know.

    Sex as exercise

Men seem to spend more energy thinking and talking about sex than on the act itself. During sexual intercourse, a man's heart rate rarely gets above 130 beats a minute, and his systolic blood pressure (the higher number, recorded when the heart is pumping blood) nearly always stays under 170. All in all, average sexual activity ranks as mild to moderate in terms of exercise intensity. As for oxygen consumption, it comes in at about 3.5 METS (metabolic equivalents), which is about the same as doing the foxtrot, raking leaves, or playing ping pong. Sex burns about five calories a minute; that's four more than a man uses watching TV, but it's about the same as walking the course to play golf. If a man can walk up two or three flights of stairs without difficulty, he should be in shape for sex.

Yes but so much more fun than raking leaves, watching TV or playing ping pong.
Hmm maybe a new euphemism "playing ping pong"?

I have faith you can do better with that euphemism. 2/10 on ping pong.

Love it when people log the most inane, non-esercise related things and then wonder "WHY AM I NOT LOSING WEIGHT!"

You might want to check your form. Go for progressive overload.
Ergh, what happened there. Clearly I wasn't proofing! I'm normally so pedantic about these things.
