Young Ladies: Never been skinny

I'm 26 but I was a STICK til i was 16, then birth control ruined me. Before that i was 118 pds with C boobs. Then i gained 35 pds in a year and a half. And since then i have gone up another 30. It's worse when it happens slowly cause you don't realize!!! Anyways, the last time I work a bikini was in my highschool boyfriends hot tub, so 16 yrs old. Buuuuutt in approx a month and a half I'm going on a cruise to the bahamas and I'm f***ing determined to feel good enough to flaunt all my ****. It's funny how when i was 16 and 150 pds I thought I was fat.....and now i'd kill to get back there!
I know that feeling! In high school I thought I was huge, but when I look back now I realize I was looking prettyyyy good. Sigh.0 -
Oh, and of course my best friend is a size 2 or 4 without trying... sigh
Me too!
Same! And we're roomies, but she's the best friend I could ask for. We think each other are beautiful people
I absolutely adore my best friend and we have the same kind of relationship. It's not HER fault, and I'm happy for her that she has a rockin' bod (although I have a feeling it won't always be that way if she keeps eating so many calzones)... then again, it can be hard to watch her effortlessly try on size smalls at forever21/h&m and I'm like la la la, nothing here fits me! OR when I go out with her and the rest of our (skinny, beautiful, wonderful) friends, I always feel like the ugly and gross one because guys stare at them so much.
I know what you mean about the calzones! I watch her just pack away the food and the candy without a second thought. I keep telling her she's going to gain 100 pound when she turns 30!0 -
I'm In!! I've never been skinny!! I want be so bad!!0
-
Yeahhh it's crazy that we all do that. You look back and realize just how fabulous you really were. Well at least how fabulous my boobs were!!!! I'm hoping that when i go to the bahamas people will be so preoccupied with my huge boobs that they'll overlook my gut....LOL0

I'm 27 so i don't know if i fit into this category or not. i was tiny when i was about 11/12 then over night i went up 3-4 dress sizes (about the time my PCOS started) and my self esteem plummeted. i've never been happy with my body shape anyway, i have big thighs and a big bum (even when i was tiny!) but i've slowly learned to accept it, i just find it more annoying these days when i have to buy a size bigger than i need for everything else because otherwise i can't get the trousers to pass my thighs. similar issues with my boobs. Anyway, feel free to add me!0

I'm right there in this same boat! I've never been skinny. In fact, I was "cutely chubby" until I was about 7. Then when I was 7, I just started to get plain old FAT. I'm 27, and when I was a kid, there were no cute clothes for fat kids. Now they have "plus" sizes for kids, but they sure did not back then. To make matters worse, my mom had horrible fashion sense, was a cheapskate when it came to buying my wardrobe, and also inflicted terrible home haircuts and home perms on me. My whole childhood consisted of being tormented by my peers for my weight and my clothes. I didn't really eat anything worse than my classmates, and in fact, my mom made me eat really healthfully and go run around a lot. We didn't have cable TV or anything. I don't know why I've always been so fat. My mom was always naturally thin and beautiful, and I don't look anything like her. As I got older, I just got fatter and fatter. I didn't have my first pair of jeans until I was in 5th grade, and they were a women's size 14! When I was 10! My mom cut the bottoms off so they'd be the right length. By the time I was 19 and got married, I was in a size 22 wedding dress. Fortunately, I have an awesome husband who has never made me feel badly about my weight. He tells me all the things he loves about me, such as my intellect, my sense of humor, etc. But then again, he doesn't tell me I'm gorgeous either...so here I am at 27, stay-at-home mom to three girls of my own, and I am ready to finally get to a NORMAL size. My best friend is dieting now too, but she's a size 12 who wants to be the size 5 she was in high school. As for me, I would would be THRILLED to get to the size she is right now! I totally understand how you feel. My goal for this year is to drop 3 pants sizes by next December. Eventually I'd like to no longer be plus sized at all.0

good luck to all of you, girls0

Been there done that. The first 26 years of my life I was either overweight or obese. Wasn't the greatest growing up hearing people tell you you're pretty... but.... I started a size 28 Women's at around 345 lbs . at 5'9" and now I'm a size 14/16 in misses and right around 200lbs. Still have about 2oish pounds to go but I definitely dont feel as small as I've gotten- I still feel bigger than everybody. Slowly starting to realize it with more pictures I see of myself. Gotta learn to love ourselves, flaws and all, we're all beautiful!0

Girl you're preaching to the choir. Never been skinny, but planning on getting there.0

i have never been skinny either.not fat though.but i started getting tired of it because it's still holding me back in many cases. You just need determination!!!0

I'm almost 25, and have never been skinny. All my friends are skinny minnies, and it has always made me feel rubbish. I have never been happy with myself, and I have decided that enough is enough. I have done all the diets, and have been joined to this for some time now, but never stuck with it. But this year is the year for change. I have been sticking to this religiously and have so far lost 4lbs. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who's felt like this and there is support out there
Keep at it ladies!0 -
Yeah that's me! *sigh* i will never be 'skinny' - it's just the way i'm built (chest and hips aren't going anywhere unfortunately!).
But when i bought 3 pairs of size 16 (UK) jeans from the internet the other day, tried them on when they arrived, and they didn't fit, i knew i had to do something - as i've never been more than a size 16.
So instead of returning them and getting a bigger size i'm just gonna try and lose some podge instead and get down to around a size 12. Because that's where i'm most comfortable!
Only been doing this two days and it's becomming an obsession. Which is excellent!
I wish all of you ladies well! whatever you goals Feel free to add me if you like0 -
Oh hey *raises hand* me. Never been skinny but I am trying after a long illness (that is still a problem) to make a difference feel free to add me xx0
-
Hiim the same im 29 and never been skinny even before my 4 boys and dont think i will ever be lol add me if you want im doing the 30 day shred at the min its good kep it up ladies !!0
-
Yup, this is me. Got misdiagnosed with an illness at a very young age, was put on steroids and I ballooned. I had no confidence, as a teen ate too much, etc etc.
Hated wearing shorts, swimming costumes etc. Now I am thinner and could do it, I have extra skin and sag, so hate exposing myself. Happy with my face though
P.S. I don't ever want to be skinny, just fit and healthy and happy with my shape. I do not aspire to be skinny and don't think that should be a goal for a confident person.0 -
Sounds exactly like me. I'm 23 and I started gaining weight around 11 or 12 and even before that I always felt chunky and out of place. I have no idea what it feels like to feel like I'm the same size as my friends.0
-
I was naturally super slim until i hit about 13 and then my metabolism started kicking in..... i gain weight, but lost it when i was 16/17 and then got pregnant and put it all on again and far more lol!0

I've always been podgy0

Hi All! I started this last summer, epically failed, but started religiously new years day. I'm looking for the young ladies out there who have never been skinny. Never been able to stop eating carbs and sweets, never worn a bikini, and were self conscious. I'm 19, always been over weight, and want to get a support system going for these said people. Who knows what Im talking about?
How about those of us a bit older than you? I'm in my mid 30s, and have never worn a bikini, or been skinny. Well, perhaps some would call me that now, but with a BMI of 23 I sure don't feel "skinny". "Normal" yes, "skinny" no. I'm 2 and a half years into this lifestyle change (from a BMI of ~38), and prior to starting this, I've always felt fat since I was about 8 years old, even though I probably wasn't technically overweight when I was 8.0 -
from 8 years old to 21 years that was me
I then lost A LOT of weight very quickly and had an underweight category BMI. because I did it too quick I gained it all back in about 6 months which was really tough. I started again and have since made my insecurites that much worse and really struggle with balance, health and food now.
It is possible, just don't let it become you. I think it's easier when you've never had that before to value it too much. life matters more than weight.
But with commitment you will get there and it's a great feeling. Work hard and cherish mini goals and mini non scale related victories that you never dreamt would be part of your life.0 -
i was not a chubby child untill i hit high school then lost a bit when left i am now 26 and struggled with weight since i was 14-15, i was diagnosed with pcos at 15 so that makes it harder and since having my daughter it dont wanna leave me lol0
-
I broke my hips when I was ten and piled the weight on, never lost it, nearly twenty years later and doing something about it0
-
YES. When I was younger (5-13) I was a gymnast so I always had chunky CHUNKY legs, my thighs were huge (and even worse now)! I was quite wide built haha and medium weight (but I wasnt that big!!), I then had a growth spurt and couldn't do gymnastics anymore and I was so sad leaving all my 5ft 90lbs friends.
Thats when it started, the comfort eating, the baking cakes and eating them all myself, the chips the pizza the chocolate just everything bad to make me feel 'better' about myself and the lack of exercise (i used to do 8 hours at least a week) meant I gained and I mean gained, by the age of 18, four and a half stone. The only reason I didnt gain a load more was I was a religious yoyo/fad dieter and stuck in a rut. UNTIL NOW! Haven't wore a leotard never mind bikini in five years, would love to be able to. Damn high school/work stresses and hormones and everything else!! So motivated now, apart from one bad day since new years I have been EMMACULATE and intend to keep it that way haha:)
