I just had 160g of protein for lunch. I have read that you can only absorb so much protein per hour, so how much did I waste?

All of it, because you didn't lift right before!0

You NEVER waste protein. Never. Plus, nobody likes a mess!0

Don't sweat it Jac -- one thing I've learned is I can never get too much protein0
-
I flushed some protein down the toilet earlier0

You have to measure the amount that may have gotten on your chin,...that would be the only waste.0

Jac!!!
You're only supposed to eat so much protein every four hours...otherwise it's ALL wasted...
at least that's what my last boyfriend told me...
every four hours...on the hour....more protein!0 -
out. \m/0

30g/hr, the rest turns into fat0

Give the extra protein to your wife.

Did you swallow it all or...?0

Its also a diuretic so you have to drink more water - but 8 ounces an hour is acceptable, otherwise you pee the rest out0

25-30g per sitting, spaced approx 3-4 hours apart. More than that is excreted and beats on your kidneys. Drink tons of water and get some fiber as well. That may hurt later.0

More importantly...... WHAT did you eat that had 160g of protein? I need to know for MY lunch.0

I only had 158g of protein for lunch (true story, check my diary) so I'm safe. 159 or higher and you'll die within hours. Sorry buddy. You'll be missed.0

If you've consumed that many grams, your body will take a while to break that down to be absorbed.. therefore absorbing it slowly over the hours it's digesting. People are saying you pee it out as if all that meat will be digested in a couple hours.. it won't be. You don't just 'pee out' the protein while there's 27 oz of chicken breast sitting in your stomach all day. I don't really think you've wasted it.. I just think it's unnecessary to consume that much in protein in one meal.. unless you're just living off of meat and barely any carbohydrates? (which I'll save my opinion on). For most people, that is two days worth of protein. It is also significantly more than double the RDA for an average person (which also has a large safety margin). Athletes are obviously different, but still don't require as much as someone who is into, say, bodybuilding?
Rather than worrying about wasting it, I'd be more concerned with not habitually consuming excess protein above what you need because it's really hard on the kidneys and liver. With the standard american diet, we tend to get much more protein than our bodies need.. and not necessarily from the best sources.
Quality of protein over quantity for sure!0 -
As long as you take your raspberry ketones within an hour you're good.0

That's a lot of breast. How'd you handle all that?0 -
