Figuring out how to manipulate my diet to get the changes that I want.

And figuring out what real intensity in the gym means, not just going through the motions thinking I will make the progress I want.

Until this moment, I never realized how supportive and motivational Tom Petty was... it's like he knows me!

I am also running down a dream, I won't back down, I'm pretty much a rebel without a clue, free falling & an american girl.

For me it was the food. Going to the gym and sticking to a schedule is easy for me. I'm a creature of habit and when I form a habit, its like a bond. I had to give up the urge and inclination to eat what I wanted when I wanted. Instill discipline. And because of that, I actually cherish those foods I used to have constantly because I have them less frequently.

I actually had tremendous motivation at the beginning of this, and that means I didn't struggle for a long time. I didn't fail to lose at least a pound a week, usually two, until Christmas when I decided I would have a week off. Gaining that weight over Christmas, and reintroducing myself to junk food, almost ruined everything. It took a lot to get back to it in January 2012 but luckily I did, and then in December I hit my goal weight.

I then gained half a stone this Christmas, and need to lose three more pounds to get back to my goal weight, which I WILL do, because I've worked this long and there's no way I'm letting it all go to waste now.

for me it was accepting I had a problem, I was 23stone and a half, and in my head I would convince myself I had a lot of muscle mass lol. It took a chat with my hairdresser to make me realise I was so fat, she was talking about the gym and there I was saying ''oh yeh Im doing great'' but its hard to lie when your facing a mirror! Joined a new gym the next day :)

a year and a half later Im 15stone with actual muscle and not seen that hairdresser since, I booked in with her next friday, Cant wait!!!! lol

Well, I'm at the beginning again, so I'd have to say that the hardest part is learning not to stress eat!
  • Getting back on track after an ankle injury and Christmas....

Clearly... no one wants to go there :)

Hardest part for me was getting my fat A** to the gym! I worried that everyone would be starring and that my fat big body jumping around would be the center of everyones focus.... come to find out, no one really cares :) The only people that stare at me are the other fat girls wishing they could be as awesome as me.

Learning that that nagging 'starving' feeling at the beginning is just phantom hunger. Gotta just put up with it. No pain, no gain, right...?

Taking the positive encouragement rather than the negative. This is MY journey, no one elses.

That's what I said when my ex was taking all the records. "You can't have that one, it's MY Journey!"
Sooo...it took me like 5 minutes to get this...but...good one!

For me it was cutting sweets and just sticking to healthier foods. It's even harder to concentrate on yourself when u have a 1 year old running around and care for. Baby steps! :)
