Agreed. I do not like weird compliments from random strangers, and yet I used to laugh and smile whenever I got them, in an effort to try to diffuse the tension and hide the deep discomfort I was feeling. I'm trying to get over this, because I don't want to send the message that this behavior is appropriate or appreciated.

I wish people would keep their words to themselves when it comes to my body. It's creepy.
However - some people are going for just that. Creepy.
I have to say, this is one of the best things about getting older. Those type compliments are now usually just from female close friends. It still makes me squirm, but there's usually no hidden agenda.
