I always go over the alloted amount for fiber intake, is this helping my weight loss by going over or not?

    What is your fiber set at? I think the one that MFP usually puts is 15 grams and to be honest, that is pretty low. I changed my goal to 30 and usually get from 30-35 each day. Recommended for women is 25-30 I believe each day. There is such a thing as too much fiber but I would bet that you aren't getting too much.

    The only problem with eating too much fiber is that it can cause constipation if you do not drink enough water.
  • I'm so glad you asked this question.. I was literally thinking the same thing 5 minutes ago! My fibre amount is also set at 30.. I try to get as much from bran, fruits and veggies, but also just bought some benefibre today...So I was just wondering the same thing...
