    I sweat Mother Nature is going through menopause.. It was hot yesterday, then cooled off, then it was nice this AM, suddenly the skies opened up & there was a barrage of rain, then it got really windy, then it almost warmed up before it got cold as hell... 4 season in 24 hours here...

    It rained here for 3 days then turned to snow... now there's about a foot out there.

    Why do pickled cucumbers get to be called pickles, but if you pickle onions, or watermelon rinds you call it pickled onions or pickled watermelon rinds? What makes cucumbers so special that they got the market on the name pickles?

    For the same reason "Cat's eye" gemstone is only the mineral Chrysoberyl, and all other gems displaying a cat's eye property are called "cat's eye" and the n the mineral. Example: Cat's eye quartz or cat's eye tourmaline.
