Hey ladies! I am 5'5, started out at 278 in a size 18 or 20 just depending on brand. I am down to 250 and still haven't gone down a size. My pants are getting more loose, and I have to wash my jeans almost every time I wear them now because they get baggy, but trying on a size smaller, they are still too tight.. I think 10 more pounds and I"ll be good.
When did you start going down in sizes?? I know as you weigh less, the amount between sizes is less... but I feel like almost 30 pounds, I should have been down more than this... but maybe not!
Would love to hear your story & to see your result pics!!

I'm in the same situation but about 3 inches shorter. I've gone from 272 to 246 and still haven't gone down a size. Again, like you, my pants are looser but I can't get into that size 16 quite yet.
Fingers crossed on those next pounds!0 -
I started at 230 or so and within 20lbs I was down one size in pants.. I can also ALMOST wear the next size..just have a hug muffin top hanging out..
I should mention I was in an 18w to start and 16w.. 14 buttons but fat hangs out..0 -
I started at either 310 or 320. I was afraid of the scale when I was that heavy. I was around a size 24. I am down to a size 18 also. I'm 5'3". I just gained back the weight I lost in the summer. But I'm at around 258. I was down at 245 and was still a size 18.
I'm going to assume that by the time I'm past 240 I should be able to start slowly fitting into a size 16. It's hard because I have a curvy body which isn't a bad thing but I have to wear specific kind of jeans for my body type.0 -
I started out at 263, have lost 53 lbs and still can wear the old size pants. As long as I wear a belt with them! I felt as frustrated as you with really not feeling like I had gone down a size. Surprisingly though, I went to the store when I lost about 35lbs and was able to buy a size 16. I was also in a 18 or 20 depending. Now those size 16's are loose! You probably are down almost a size I would guess. Also wear a belt even if you don't have to. It's great knowing that you used to have it on the 3rd whole and now you can get it to the 5th or whatever. The other thing is that I noticed my top half shrinks faster than my bottom half. Have you noticed a bigger difference in your shirts? Lastly, take measurements. I only take mine every 1.5 months or so but you can really see a difference when you do that. Great job so far and be happy for all that you have accomplished!!0

I started at 276 pounds and a size 22. It took about 35 pounds for me to go down to a size 20, then about another 20 pounds to go down to a size 18, then another 15 pounds or so to get to size 16, and since then it has felt much quicker, about a size every 10-12 pounds or so. I am right now 166 pounds and a size 12/ ALMOST a size 10 in some things (today I have on a pair of size 10 Lee Slender Secrets jeans that are only a bit snug woot!)
Sometimes it just depends on where your body is deciding to let go of fat first. I noticed my face/arms/legs going before the middle part started going, if that makes sense...0 -
Thanks ladies... glad to hear we are all in the same boat!! We can do this!!The other thing is that I noticed my top half shrinks faster than my bottom half. Problem with my tops is, I wore very baggy shirts.. i hate for my stomach to show AT ALL so I wore a baggy top, or cami all the time! I can tell in some of my dresses, underneath the arms are too big now, same with some of my shirts I wore sweaters over.... I haven't been shopping yet because I dont want to spend the money when I'm still losing weight... but yea, i'd say my top half is shrinking faster too!0 -

YAY FOR YOU on the size 10!!!! Thats awesome!!!!! You're doing fantastic!0 -
Girl, it all depends on body. DO NOT pay attention to clothes sizing numbers. I wore an 18 at 240 and was still wearing an 18 at 204 (5'5") cause I have a booty. Just started buying more petite cuts. Measure yourself around in inches and go off that. The clothes will get smaller eventually.0

I actually started at 318 and am now dwn in the 260's. I want to say when I first noticed clothing getting loose/too big was after about 40lbs. I'm a pear shape and though i noticed weight loss instantly at the top, it took a while for the "bottom"0

It took me over 30 pounds to lose one size which was really frustrating! I often see people on here talking about how they lost 20 pounds and 3 dress sizes and it's just no fair haha
But yes, it could be partly due to where on your body you are losing weight first. I haven't really lost all that much from my waist/stomach area so it's taking a lot longer to fit into smaller pants.0 -
I been using this app for the last few months and I have lost almost 46 pounds, challenging my body and making changes.. I am currently at 166 lbs a big difference from when I use to weigh 350lbs I remember using size 26/28 in pants. I lost 150 lbs on my own by just walking and eating right. Keep on motivating yourself if you need an extra buddy feel free to add me I still don't know how to post pictures on the forum. Sorry

I started about the same weight and height as op, but went from about a 22 to an 18 in jeans.0
-
I definitely understand and relate. I started at 307lbs and a tight 24, now down to 214lbs and finally in a 16.0
-
All I know is I'm jealous. My stomach is huge, always has been. I had to be 170 and was still size 18, although I could squeeze into a super tight 16.
At 350 I was in a size 32, Lost 60 pounds and was able to just squeeze into a 28. Meanwhile I'm absolutely swimming in the butt and legs in those pants.
Would love to find any other ladies with this problem.... ughhhhh.0 -
I started 7 weeks ago I think? right after thanksgiving.
I started at 282 and am at 261.6. I'm 5'7.5".
I generally wear 24/26/28 but was able to put on a size 20 skirt this past sunday - no sucking it in or laying down to get it on either. It was tight but I could still wear it. I also noticed my chest has gotten smaller...
But I'm still wearing my 24/26/28 size skirts...0 -
I started at 285, I am going shopping this weekend... I have been out and tried some stuff on, I find that I have had to change the cut of my clothing (I shop at Penningtons and Addition Elle in Canada) they have different cuts for different body types, I have had to change from Curvy (really generous in the booty and smaller in the waist) to more of the straight cuts... And yes, my upper boddy is losing much faster, but I have been doing squats and lunges and everything else (stairs) I can think of to get my bottom going!0
-
Wow!!!! You have lost a lot of weight!!!! Any tips for getting the weight off?0
-
I'm just starting. Was at 263, and now am down 2 pounds. ( 7 really but only 2 since I've been on here), and I am a size 18-20. I can't wait to fit into a 16 so I can really start to feel like I have accomplished something!0
-
I officially started at 264 but I was probably around 272 at my heaviest. I started in a 22/24. I never really bought any size 20's since I just kept wearing my loose 22/24 pants. First time I bought anything I started getting into 16/18 around 230 lbs. Now those 16's are getting big. Right now I'm at 184 and wearing 14 but I think I will be ale to do 12 in another couple of lbs.0
-
I started at 270 (Maurices size 17/18) and I'm only down about 10 lbs so I have yet to drop a pant size0
-
You have lost a lot in the face (its noticeable other places too), you look so much younger and healthier. I know that doesn't help with your pants size question but I thought t was worth mentioning.0
-
I'm in the same boat! I started at 278. I was in an 18 but they were getting too tight so i will say a 20. I'm still in 18's but they are loose but not loose enough to get into a 16. But then I purchased a pair of jeans last week that were still 20's. Crazy how each brand fits different. I have learned to not care about the size, I know that's hard to do in society today because like you I'm sure, I'm ready to get out of PLUS SIZE clothes!! They SUCK and are not as cute and way more expensive! We will get there, we've got this!0

aw. thanks! Yes I am very happy and feel MUCH better!!! I can definately tell in my face/neck/arms.... just ready to fit back into some of my old pants but I know it will come!0 -
I've wanted to know the same thing! I was around 275 when I started and wished I could have worn a 18/20. I was wearing at 24, which was kinda big and a 22. Currently, I'm down 24 pounds and I can't really wear the 24 without them falling off in 10 minutes. the 22's I can wear, but they look and feel so loose. I can't wait to wear my 20's!! I can get them zipped and buttoned, but it looks like I'm sorta poured into them. I would love to just wear a 12 or 14 someday :-) I know that it doesn't matter what size it's how you look and feel when wearing them. I now I'm feeling amazing and I can't help but think I look pretty amazing too :-) Keep up the good work ladies!0

you are doing awesome!!!! Just proves what I've always said... weight doesn't determine clothing size!! I was in a 16 until I hit about 240ish (so I guess I just answered my original question! haha!)...
but keep up the awesome work! You are doing great!!!!0 -
I'm ready to get out of PLUS SIZE clothes!! They SUCK and are not as cute and way more expensive!
