Looking for tips to burst a plato
Hi I signed myself on boot class to burst my Plato. After 5 weeks I am eating less working out the double time that I use to do and not losing weight. I reduced the carbs intake and the scale went down for a while now it got stuck again, I am feeling very discourage now can anyone give me some tips?
Thank you

Find a good philosophy instructor and develop some good, sound, logic-based arguments.0

Maybe read Plato while working out?0

I had to read this like 10 times. I thought I was missing something.
OP I think your mean 'plateau'. You can't change it in the title but it might help anyone else reading the post if you edit it.0 -

Nah, the Greeks do it all the time, especially at weddings and other celebrations.0 -
Burst a plato? Is that what you kids are calling it these days?0

Have you tried the socratic method?
Ok, seriously, if your weight loss has stalled then its helpful to know how many calories you're eating and what type of routine you're following.0 -

why didn't anybody ever say, "Socrates, hemlock is poisonous!"?

it's a little hard to give advice about your plateau when you don't have your diary open or at least give us info like your calorie goal and activity level, whether you are eating your exercise calories back (to Note: MFP expects you to eat your exercise calories back). Maybe you need to double check your TDEE.
If you want, check out this link by MFPer Heliotsdan - It'll give you a detailed walkthrough (with pictures even) on finding your TDEE and calculating what you should be eating.

Also, if you are worried about the calorie intake, I also suggest you read this thread that has numerous people who met their goals and are maintaining. Some for years and they also provide their calorie intake and how often they work out.

For those eating below their BMR (which if that is your calorie goal - I think 1200 is probably below your BMR), not going to preach at you, but here's something you might want to look at:

If you are eating under a 1000 calories, please stop unless it is doctor approved and supervised. You may also want to check out the links below:

Yes, this is can all be overwhelming and complicated , but you are more than welcome to ask questions on the post.
One of the things that I have found that has been one of the best methods for me to get fit is to understand fitness. To understand where all these figures, etc come from.
The good thing is once you get the hang of it - it is something you'll be aware of constantly and you'll get a better understanding about your eating habits.
So I HIGHLY suggest making the effort to take every chance to educate yourself. Even if you don't end up going with any of these methods, calculations, etc - at least you understand what they are, where others are coming from, and maybe they will still be able to help you figure out what is best for you.0 -
Lord you people are shot up! Try switching your diet around. You might be like many of us who hit a plateau. We eat the same types of food over and over. The body becomes highly efficient in learning how to use these foods. Try new recipes and new foods they will help confuse your body metabolism the same way different exercise programs do. Best of Luck. BTW for what its worth. Plato and Socrates had nothing on Jesus. Just sayin!0

I just added Shakeology into my diet and my plateau broke quick.0

We're just having some fun. Hopefully the OP has a sense of humor.0 -

No. Unless you just want to use this just to use it -than fine, spend the money on an overpriced shake. Shakeology doesn't have anything to do with breaking a plateau...and if someone says it does, you better provide peer reviewed studies on how and why it breaks plateaus.
Please read the links I provided and try reconfiguring your TDEE. Remember to give your body 2-3 weeks to adjust.0 -
I totally read that as "burst a patio" and was disappointed the thread wasn't about gardening and landscaping... Oops.0
