    Are you kidding?
My 30... something... wife still watches cartoons.
But, he will eventually grow out of it once he discovers:

    A: Girls
    B: Cars.

Some just take a little longer to launch.

    Why would it be wrong?

Only if they are neglecting things that they have to do like school work...showers...

Otherwise who cares if they like cartoons and Pokemon cards...there are plenty of things they could be getting into that you would WISH they were watching cartoons again...

Why would you not allow your child to do what makes them happy?

How many calories does that goosestepping burn?

There could be a lot worse things he is doing at that age. Cartoons and Pokemon cards are really tame. I would relax and enjoy it while it still lasts. one day you may be wishing he was still doing both.

There's nothing wrong with letting your kids be who they are as long as it isn't taking over their lives. I have a 14 yr old daughter that is into the same things. I encourage her to broaden her horizons so that she can find common ground with her peers.

Thats a tough one for me, because at 15 I was out of the house and had my own job so 15 seems 'old'... In my heart, I say, let them be little. I'd encouage more age appropriate 'things' but I wouldn't discourage the passion to be a kid still. They have many, many years to be adults :)

At 15 it could be a lot worse! Tons of kids at that age still play with those cards, and now the Magic cards too. There are some "groups here in Vermont where kids get together and play with them and some are even older.

Um... my 19 year old still does both... and he still likes cars and girls and goes to school. Seems pretty normal to me.

    Exactly!

Let him be a kid. As long as he's getting school work done and has a decent peer social life. There are far worse things than Pokemon

Nope. We don't have kids and Cartoon Network is one of the top 5 channels in this house. I'd MUCH rather watch "Adventure Time" than "Honey Boo Boo" or rednecks makin' moonshine / trappin' gators / makin' duck calls. And I can't stand "Real <blah blah blah> Housewives" shows. So, yeah. Finn and Jake all the way. Unless "Modern Marvels" or "Man Vs. Food" are on.

The way I see it, 1) it'll keep him out of trouble 2) it actually teaches him to think strategically, 3) it's less violent than some of the MMO games he could be playing, and 4) it makes him happy.
