Best Microwave Meals

Ok, I'm sure someone's already posted something like this on here, but I'm kind of in a hurry and need to figure out who has the best microwave meals for calories. Should I look at low fat too?

i eat the smart ones with pancakes and turkey sausage only has 280 calories.0

I'm sure any of them are fine from a calorie standpoint. I could never make a habit of eating them though...way too much sodium in any of them and way too many carbs. As long as it fits in your calorie goal and macros and you aren't concerned with sodium intake, I'm sure either one will do just fine.0

I don't eat them very often, but the SmartOnes are okay. I find them much more delicious than Lean Cuisine.
But, it's more affordable/healthier/delicious to just double your dinner recipes and freeze the rest for quick lunches. Lean Cuisines and the sort are like 3.99. Ridiculous.0 -
I will usually pre make my meals and put them in the freezer and bring them out to microwave. Chicken fajitas are my favorite :-D0

Personally I'm a fan of Healthy Choice or Marie Callender. You'll usually get more food for your calorie content, and they tend to taste better.
Make sure to check the calorie content before you buy!0 -
I like Kashi and Amy's meals - pretty decent nutrition and tasty. I also LOVE Evol burritos but they are high in calories - good nutrition though.0

If you're not deadset on frozen stuff - stab a sweet potato a few times, wrap in a paper towel, and nuke for 10 minutes (turn over halfway through). Stick in a TBSP of butter, some cinnamon, some brown sugar and you're golden .
For frozen, I like Lean Pockets - the meatball or the chicken/broccoli. 300 cal a piece. Also not great on sodium but awesome if you're in a rush, since silverware is completely unnecessary.0 -

Love the Lean Cuisine frozen dinners. Generally pretty low in calories and the information is right on the front. I also like the smart ones.0

I love those meals but I'm just concern about the sodium content. It seems that everything I pick up is high in sodium. For example, I prefer Campbell s soups but Progresso advertises that it is more nutritious. So I picked up 10 cans for $11.88 from Shoprite. It;s true, the calories are less but it has a lot of sodium. I guess there is no real way to get around the sodium unless you cook from scratch. I'm not into cooking.0

Watch the labels. The sodium and/or sugar levels are high. Some are pretty high calorie content too.
It is personal preference and taste and how you want to use your calorie amounts.0 -

considering what most people were eating to get on this site, I don't see why everyone has such a problem. not everyone can go clean over night and stick to it.
that being said: lean cuisine has some great fish options, also love the smart ones pizzas. i'm a picky eater so healthy choice limits my options (don't like pepers, squash, etc.)0 -
I'm from the UK, so not sure if you would have them, but although I try to avoid them like the plague now, if I do buy one I tend to go for the Marks and Spencer fuller for longer range. Although they are a little on the pricey side, they are made with proper ingredients rather than mostly flavourings and crap, they are high in protein and they are by far the best I've ever tasted.0

OP, If you prep a weeks worth of food, you can have whatever you want during the week. This week, for me, it's smoked chicken chopped up in a salad. (1 cup spinach / a half cup cucumber).
The sodium levels in the frozen meals do leave a lot to be desired.0 -
I like the healthy choice meals. I go through em all and usually buy all the ones with less than 500 sodium. it has made me try some things I prolly wouldnt have otherwise and it turned out good. Alot of the ones I have in the fridge atm are less than 300 calories.
I would say the sweet pineapple chicken is my favorite!0 -

Although, my #1 favorite "British" word is "whilst." If it didn't look/sound odd for an American to use that word I'd be using it at every opportunity.0 -
Sam's Club offers 6 Lean Cuisine meals (3 varieties of 2 each - sesame chicken, chicken teriyaki and a chicken and veggies I think) for less than 10 dollars. I leave one in the freezer for lunch and have eaten them every day. Calorie range is 290-330. It works for me.0

I second Amy's Organic although they are pricey. Kashi are decent but I prefer Amy's. I try to restrict myself to one, maybe two, a week for those evenings when after a workout I just can't cook and have no leftovers.0

Not everyone pushes people to eat clean either, I don't. Not trying to start any drama, but I wouldn't claim to know what everyone was eating before.0 -
and all you have to do is check in here, read about people, about their changes. you learn a lot about people from how the say stuff.
and it's true, most people here were eating junk food and sweets and double portions. not a lot of people here got fat off eating healthy foods.
and I never said everyone pushes people to eat clean, but you can't deny that when you go into a topic that includes store bought meals, a lot of people chime in that eating clean is best. it may be true, but my statement only said that some people cant go clean over night- making the point that to start out, I don't see why people have issues with microwavable meals if its still healthier then you were eating before.0 -
I like the lean cuisine salad additions. I love salad, but I'm too lazy to cut every thing up and measure it all out to take it to work the next day - so the salad additions are perfect for me. I also don't mind the lean cuisine pizzas. I try only to eat one frozen meal a day and then try to drink a lot of water because of all the sodium. That may be pointless, but it hasn't bothered me! :-)0

I definitely prefer Marie Callendar over Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine. They have similar menu items but taste so much better. I love the beef pot roast and herb roasted chicken. Just look at the label because some of their meals are high calorie.0
