I like to break my weight loss goals down to 5 pound loss increments, because it seems for me that for every 5 pounds I lose, I lose 1 inch off my waist. And I try to not think about the number of pounds I lose but an object that weighs the same. Such as a gallon of water weighs 8 pounds.

I have lost a little over 16 pounds so far and 16 doesn't seem like much, but that is the same as carrying a gallon of water in each hand all day. That would be exhausting. Yet I have taken that much workload off my body and heart so far already.

You are making great progress...keep it going.

So true! It's great to have visual and physical material that helps you along. I wouldn't even think to pick up a gallon of water and see what it feels like. I have a 10 pound dumbbell at home. I've never thought about just holding it to feel how 10 pounds actually feels.

    So congrats on your 16!!!

10 pounds IS a lot!! Pick up a sack of potato's and you'll see what I mean :-) I'll never forget when I had lost about 15 pounds, and I was happy but sad at the same time, feeling like it wasn't enough. My husband and I were at the store... He found a bag of potato's that were 15 lbs and threw it in my arms. I looked at him crazy and he said "THAT'S what YOU'VE lost.. Feel accomplished!!"

I love my husband, he made me think!!

You've done great!! I can totally tell the difference. I think that's an amazing idea... in sets of 10! I've given myself certain goals to reach, as milestones until I get to my ultimate goal.

Keep up the great work, and thank you for sharing!!!

  • Not much my goot! You're doing great!!
  • ...and by goot I meant foot! Keep up the awesome work! As I said before, I would have killed for your figure at my former weight ... hell, I'd kill for your figure now!! You have totally got an hourglass going there, and that's just not what I was blessed with, lol! You can see a huge difference with your first set of 10, so I'm sure every set will make you look even more amazing!
