If you eat enough protien are shakes neccesary?

    I've never had any kind of shake or protein powder food-like item and I don't intend to. M diet is well-balanced with fruit, veggies, lean meat, whole grain, and dairy. As Michael Pollan would suggest, I don't eat anything my grandmother wouldn't recognize as food. And that includes any kind of bar.

    And that give you what? About 14 grams of protein?

    15 - and a bit of sugar in the nana so you dont feel too tired to run about after your toddler when you get home - as most have said, you don't 'need' a protein shake, although I did see a study in which milk relieved post exercise muscle soreness better than sports drinks and I have milk in the fridge....so I drink it.

    A nice little bit of protein is a bonus.
