I used to (and now want to again thanks to you) make a vest with pockets in it. I could slide weighted items into the pockets whenever I lost weight and then go on my walks wearing that weighted vest. It would cause me to burn additional calories yet not be so detrimental to my spine because my spine obviously used to bear all that weight prior to losing it.
So far I have lost 4 lbs so that would be pretty manageable at this point I think.
I like your idea. Thanks for sharing.

Brilliant idea! Might even keep the equivalent weight loss lying around so I can pick it up if I'm tempted by chocolate or that pack of chips xD

When I'm disappointed in the amount I've lost, or I don't think I can see it, I always pick up a 500g tub of margarine and say "I've lost that."

They do that on the show "The Biggest Loser"... as a motivation tool.
  • Today was a pretty productive day for me. I went on my regular hike today, with the exception that this time I duplicated it. I usually set my Cardio-Trainer App on my Android. Today it reported that I actually hiked 6.55 miles, in 2 hours, 32 minutes and 46 seconds, I took 10,537 steps, at the speed of 2.6 mph, and burned 1283 calories.I wouldn've never imagined ,when I first started my hikes, that I would actually be able to accomplish this. It feels so great to realize that I can do it. I feel like a champ for achieving it. It gives me hope that I can shed those pounds that I need to lose. I realize that Rome wasn't built in a day. I know that it's going to take a while to reach the goal that I set, but now I know If I accomplished this, I will accomplish my weight loss in due time.

What I find motivating right now, having only started losing weight is going into the grocery store and finding the packages of butter or lard. Each is about half a pound, so I pile up as many as it takes to see how much fat I've lost this week or month. It's not much in terms of weight, but it's a significant pile.
