    If all I worried about is how my butt looks, then perhaps I'd be interested in what the "Glute Guy" has to say. Hey, do you have a link for "Pecs guy" or maybe "achilles heel guy"?

    The original poster is worried about a specific muscle though.

    Deadlifts.
    Squats.
    Deadlifts.
    Lunges.
    Deadlifts.

    Did I mention deadlifts?

    maybe you should read what the Glute Guy has to say on the subject. Then you would not be so deadlift orientated for glute activation.

    LOL - yeah the topic was GLUTES and perhaps you should try to learn before you teach, incorrectly as it happens.

    I still think deadlifts and squats are the best way to go.

    :) Hip thrusts are a lot more fun, though. I prefer weighted hip thrusts myself.

    I have been working hard lately to improve my glutes for performance reasons.

    I start my workout with glute activation exercises, these wake up the glutes and get them firing so they engage when doing other lifts. These include
    * bridges
    * donkey kicks
    * lateral squat walks with resistance band (This is an *kitten* kicker especially after bridges)

    I then move to bigger lifts
    * squats (get deep focus on pushing through your heals and clenching your butt at the top)
    * deadlifts (make sure you are lifting by pressing your hips forward and locking out, this engages more glutes and less back)
    * Kettle bell swings
    * Hip Thrust http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCm-70-9_XE

    Cardio days
    * cross ramp
    * incline treadmill
    * squat jumps / squat reaches
    * hill / stair running
    * steep hills with weighted pack
