I just upped my calories to 1400 calories to see how this works for me. before I was eating 1000-1100 calories. its my first day at 1400.
I increased my calorie goal to 1400 a few days ago (from 1200). So far I think I feel better...not as hungry. Not sure about the weight loss as it is too soon and I'm trying very hard not to weigh myself daily. My diary is also open if you care to take a peek or send a friend request0 -
This girl! Right at 1400..works pretty well for me0
-
I'm set for 1400. I usually get in about 1380-1390. I'm also doing IF, so we'll see how that goes.0
-
I have been on around 1480 for some time now and have been constantly losing 1lb a week. My diary is open. Due to OH health problems we have to mostly stay away from processed foods and salt, so tend to buy fresh food and cook from scratch. My protein is set to 1g for each lb of my lean body mass as I am weight lifting and I want healthy repair and retention of my muscles.0

I'm at 1410 and I love it! 1200 was just impossible for me, I was cranky and irritable and HUNGRY. 1400 is just right. I don't always hit it, I'm under a few days over over a few too, but for the most part 1400 is perfect. I lose about a pound a week pretty steadily, down 18 so far!!0
-
I'm trying to get my 1428 in and it is difficult! Suggestions?0
-
i'M TRYING TO KEEP MIND BETWEEN 1200-1400, THIS SEEMS TO WORK OUT WELL FOR ME RIGHT NOW, THIS HASN'T ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE IN THE PAST. i WASN'T EATING ENOUGH CALORIES AND FOUND WHEN I STARTED TRACKING THAT I WAS ONLY GETTING 900-1000 DAILY, TALK ABOUT STARVING!!!0
-
Mine is set at 1410! I try not to go over 1500 I'm pretty good at staying under! Feel free to add me my diary is open!0

I just upped my calories to 1400 calories to see how this works for me. before I was eating 1000-1100 calories. its my first day at 1400.
I too am starting on Feb 1st, I decided to increase my Daily Calorie Intake from 1200's Calorie Range to up my daily calories to consume 1,395 Calories daily. I am also going to increase my Daily Calorie Burns to plus 20 minutes/ +1mile on my Bowflex TreadClimber.
Height: 5ft & 5in OR 165 cm
Weight: 218 lbs OR 98.8 kg
Daily activity level: Light activity
TDEE 2340 Calories
Basic Metabolic Rate is 1702
The "Dreaded Plateau" has come to visit me since late November and he still hasn't left yet!! I am a person who has alot of Patience! BUT This is making me more frustrated than words could say! I have developed a Fear now of eating more Calories!
Since I have a Tremendous amount of weight to lose to get to my Ultimate Weight Goal of 145 lbs-62 lbs. When I set my Goals on MFP it tells me to consume 1200's Calories per day!?!?
I have learned to mostly stay away from processed foods! Due to my High Blood pressure I've lowered my Sodium/Salt intake to 2300 mg, MFP macros are set Auto at 2500 mg! I no longer have swollen ankles and inflammation! I tend to buy "fresh & Clean Foods" and cook at home from scratch. Eating out is no longer a weekly occasion, It's now more like once every 4-6 weeks! I've Completely cut out soda and Juices! Although I have just added a Ninja to my Healthier Lifestyle Changes so I can incorporate Protein Shakes & Smoothies into my Healthier Healthier Lifestyle!
In the initial stage of weight loss it's mostly lot of water weight! At the 1200's Range, I've lost 23 lbs. & 33.0" Inches in 230 Days!
I have been stuck at the same weight for 2 months now!!
I am slowly Gaining weight on low cals and exercise...and if anyone thinks there is no such thing...They are so wrong!
After alot of Research online. I read Calorie Cycling or HIIT is what will get the Scale to move down again!
I wish MFP would create an option or feature to Calorie Cycling!?! Suggestions are Welcome and Encouraged!
So I outsmarted MFP Calculations and set up to lose 8 lbs (2 lbs per week) for 4 weeks (1 month).
My TDEE ( Total Daily Energy Expenditure ) is 2340 calories.
My BMR ( Basic Metabolic Rate ) is 1702. I decided for this last week in January to lower my Daily Calorie Intake from 1252 -1200 calories.
So starting Feb 1st I decided to increase my Daily Calorie Intake from 1200's to 1395 calories daily. I am also going to increase my Daily Calorie Burns to 20 minutes on my Bowflex TreadClimber.
This is what I used to calculate my stats!

Howdi Ladies, I am on 1400 per day but also delving into the exercise cals ....... Scales not moving much .... So mission for Feb is to leave the exercise cals alone. I know it will be difficult as we will have o/s rels from the UK staying with us for 1/2 of it ... Bu I will do my very best, and until they arrive, there really is no excuse. Wsh me luck.0

I try to net between 1350 and 1450 per day, and have been doing so for probably 6 to 8 months. I moved states, and don't have reliable internet access, so there are loooooong stretches where I didn't log. However, my diary is open, and I've been pretty consistent with logging for the past month or so, so feel free to check out what's there.0

1420-1500 for me0
-
1440. My diary is open. I am a vegetarian though I am consistantly under by a couple hundred calories though. I have went over once by 500 on an evening out though recently. I eat my workout cals back.0
-
I am at 1500 (started at 1480 and then upped it to 1600 and just changed it down to 1500 for a little bit faster results and cause at school I tend to go over a little, so this way I can go over and be where I was)
I have been having success with this, especially having a high protein diet, I have it set to 40 30 30 (carb, pro, fat) and sometimes still go over on protein. My diary is public if you want to check it out
also I eat some or all of my exercise calories back usually0 -
I was on 1200 but think that was too low so now 1400 too. See how that goes0
-
1480 right here!0

Well I WAS at 1400 til I lost ten pounds and MFP rewards me by taking away 70 cals a day..... Fine... I guess I didn't need that slice of cheese anyway you *kitten*.
When I pretended I didn't care about Being overweight I would regularly eat three thousand cals a day. Now I feel grossly full if I get anywhere near two. That hasn't happened in awhile tho, since I rather like actually losing weight instead of just wishing I could. Add me up ladies:)0 -
OK, this is strange. You just posted in defense of 1200 calories and jumped all over the people who tried to tell you this was not a good idea. Now you do this? What's up?
aren't people allowed to change their mind or try out alternative approaches to see if they work?0 -

My husband tells the best stories of me cussing inventively after MFP stole calories from me the first time. I'd only just figured out how to work with the amount I was given.
On the main point, I'm lowering to 1,400 on Monday. I did the math recently and I feel that I could reach goal this year if I work at it hard enough.
As to the website that was posted, it tells me I should be eating around 1,100 calories a day if I want to hit goal in the next 365 days. It's the only website I've found that has told me anything near that low. I'm going to go ahead and disregard that calculation.0 -
MFP set mine at 1490 but I try to stay under 1400. Feel free to add me!0
-
1472 here (only upped them from 1400 today). Feel free to look at my diary.0
-
Just changed mine to 1475 (my BMR). Before I was trying to eat around 1,000 a day but I kept bingeing and ended up with 2000+ calories some days. My highest day was 4,000+ calories. I hope upping it will stop that.
Also trying to NET that much now. I was aiming for negative net calories but that wasn't working LOL.0 -
I'm at 1420, I started on 1200 but plateaued for 3months until I began to accidentally consume an extra 300 calories per day. When I realized I was eating more but losing I upped my goal. I have never ever lost weight as quickly or as easily as I have since increasing my calories, it's great!0
-
Im at 1410 at the moment, with an open diary. With my curernt weight, thsi is the cals to lose 1lb per week0
-
i am like many women on this post who started at 1200 and saw great results however didnt realise it was detramental to my metabolism. 2 weeks ago tommorrow, i upped my calories to approx 1400 and i feel so much better. i am going to keep increasing calories every 2 weeks. best of luck!0
-
I'm 1200, and can't even seem to eat that much but I'm always eating?! Confused. Is it because I'm a veggie? I tend to up my calories by sticking a glass of vino at the end which is not good!0
