I decided to go just above my bmr at 1700 calories. I have been really happy with that, I'm usually never hungry. The 1400-1500 range was ok for a little while but then I found myself hungry, cranky, and craving large quantities of bad food. When I went up from 1480 to 1700 I continued to lose weight no problem.

started at 216 and now am 189

Goal is 1200 + exercise calories, I usually save about 3000 exercise calories for the weekend. I try to end the week with all my exercise calories eaten. I run off of a 1,000 calorie deficit and don't allow more than the 7,000 for the week. Usually that results in a day where I eat/drink about 4,500 calories.

1560. For the first week it was 1300 but I was so hungry I literally could not sleep.

And I dont eat the extra calories on days I exercise.

Based on my job and activity level at 5'5" and 189 pounds, MFP sugests I eat 2020 calories or so to lose 1 pound per week. I'm planning on starting there and eating at least my exercise calories over 500 earned, and I'll see how I do with that. Right now, I eat an average of nearly 3,000 calories a day, so I want to gradually lower my intake. Of course, my weekends I'm a lazy bum unless I force myself to get out of bed. However, 5 days a week I'm pretty active, so I'm hoping it will all even out. If not, I'll lower my intake a bit.

That is great weight loss, how long did it take you to get where you are today

I shoot for around 23-2400 a day, though I set my goal for 2200.

Why? Because I'm a chronic over eater and always have been. :P Always overshoot my goals, 'cause I'm such a go-getter. That, and I prefer to see red over green.
