Need to lose 7-9 inches from my waist in a month

A corset will do it.0

Why didn't you order something that fits? Seems like a silly amount of unecessary pressure to put on yourself. I'm all for goal setting but they have to be realistic.
Hope you have a back-up plan to avoid tears on the day, like a larger outfit...0 -
Okay I just used proper measuring tape and I need to lose 4-6 inches, not 7-9. But Butlera, thanks for the suggestion!
I found weight-lifting really helped to whittle fat off my waist.0 -
I did a lot of waist toning in a month by doing a boot camp for women (1 hour a day, 5 days a week for four weeks). The aim was all round fitness but we did some abs-focused work too, a different thing every day.
I wasn't that overweight then but have weak core muscles at the best of times so it made a huge difference. I think you can probably get 4 inches off your waist if you're extremely disciplined and if your abs are not toned at all at the moment. You might find that doing a class/bootcamp/seeing a personal trainer is what will get you there, though. Good luck!
ETA: Just seen the response above from the lady who suggested wearing a corset will get you that much waist reduction. She's dead right. You'll need a proper steel boned corset, not a cheapie plastic thing as they bend and don't work. This is the kind of thing I mean: http://www.corsets-uk.com/wt-122-long-black-satin-waist-training-corset.html0 -
I spot reduce by doing 10,000 crunches per day.

I'm with everyone else that you likely should be more open to another outfit. However, there are some things that you can do temporarily if you are absolutely dead set on wearing this one.
1 - exercise like crazy
2 - LOTS of water, lean meats and veggies
3 - If you have access to a sauna, that will help
4 - you could try a spa wrap
5 - SPANX!
I always wear spanx, or some other kind of slimmer because it just gives a better shape. And, there is always getting it altered slightly to make just a little more room so that you'll still be comfortable.0 -
good luck with that! id like to be 130 by next month, but that aint happening either!0

Drink plenty of fluids (10-12 cups or more a day) and eat as low sodium of foods as possible (minimum 500mg and maximum 1700mg a day). Also make sure you are getting a good amount of protein and about the same level of carbs (I favor the split in carbs/protein/fat as 40/40/20). Potentially this would be a good leveling in diet to help you get to your goal. Calculate your BMR (minimum daily calorie intake) and TDEE-20% (maximum daily calorie intake) to know how much to eat in general.
Do the shred but like another said use the ripped in 30 or even the extreme shed and shred in combination. I would also suggest doing some weight lifting twice a week if you can as well.
Also make sure you are sleeping 7-8 hours per night, it is more important than you'd think
I cannot guarantee you'd get exactly where you want to get but I bet you will find a way to get there Best of luck!0 -

4 - 6 inches I think is doable but you will need to lose 20+ pounds. Good luck.0

Yeah, definitely do the 30 Days Shred.0 -
Try a corset with proper boning.
And practice not breathing.0 -
Sadly, you'll have to wear a different outfit.0

The thread seems about done by others responses, but I will add...I AGREE!
You can't spot reduce, but you can try to work on more core targeting exercises to see what you can do. But 4-5" in a month is not a reasonable goal.
Either 1) get a different outfit 2) alter it to fit you 3) wear spanX and hope for the best.0 -

4-6, 7-9, doesn't matter, buy a backup outfit just in case!0

I wear comfortable shoes and take a raincoat out when the weather demands as well :bigsmile:0 -
Another outfit, Lipo or Spanx0

work out hard, eat well, buy spandex, try to get it altered, and have fun
This....or another outfit yea0 -
I lost four inches in one week...BUT the reason was because I had ab separation from recently giving birth. I wore the bellefit, and I lost a total of five inches with it. I would try your best, and about a week before the event see how you did. If you are not at your goal then I would just get a different dress for the time being and make it a goal to eventually fit into the dress you ordered.0
-
Why do you need to lose inches? Just get a dress you fit.0
-
I doubt even spanx will give you 4-6 inches... Buy clothes that fit... easy game.0
-
You can take 4 inches off with a good corset, but they are uncomfortable to wear if you're not used to them (and it might not be the look that you want).
And a good one is expensive!0 -
Wouldn't it be easier to order an outfit that fits? There's no guarantee you'll lose 4-6 inches off your waist, even with exercise and Spanx. It all depends on how you carry your weight.
It would be easier and less stressful to order an outfit that fits now rather than try to lose the weight, fail, and then be rushed trying to find an outfit that does fit.
Agreed. Why do we do this to ourselves - buy outfits and then torture ourselves about getting into them, which just leads to guilt and feeling really bad about ourselves?
Put the outfit away, get something that fits now and focus on losing weight in a healthy and achievable way. You will get into the dress eventually if you commit to this, but in a month is just not going to happen.0 -
I'm doing 30DS and 6 weeks to a 6 pack. The 6 pack one is definately tough and if you do both everyday I'm sure you'll see results. Not sure how many inches you'll lose though as I'm on day 12 and I've lost 4 1/2 lbs but no inches as yet.0
-
Even 4-6 inches in a month is going to be hard. I've lost 5 inches off my waist in 5 months since I started. But I've lost 54 lbs. Your body loses where it wants to lose. LOL
If you do it, though, I wanna know how!0 -
try sit ups every morning, as much as you can..do it gradually, this will help tighten your abdomen.0
-
1. Find Doc Brown
2. Get the Delorean up to 88mph
3. Set time machine to go back 6 months
4. Start dieting THEN
5.????
6. profit0 -

Sure, but it won't always take inches off. It depends on how your fat is distributed. You can't spot-reduce.0 -
jillian michales, No more trouble zones, alot like 30ds but no cardio and 40 min long
but 7-9 inches in a month is a lot! if you actually do this, let me know how lol
