commuters -- how do you handle the drive home?

Thanks for the tip! I am going to do this. (Putting money in vacation fund.) On my way to a half-day of work right now, but it's an hour drive and almost lunchtime. I'm back on this site after a long hiatus and trying to be conscious about making it work this time. So before I left for work, I searched for "quitting drive thru" and your post came up. Great advice. My motivation for myself is a vacation I've planned in the Caribbean next February. And I will definitely need vacation money. So every time I drive to work without stopping at ANY drive-thru (I think I have to go cold turkey on this) I'll put the $7 in a vacation envelope. Love it. Now I'm going to go make myself a healthy sandwich to eat on the drive.

Commute time can be tough...you've received a lot of great ideas!

For me, cash & credit/debit cards in the trunk or out of reach from my seat. I'm not going to physically get out of my car while in the drive thru to get money.
