Crazy Early Morning Workout People

I think I'm going to give it a try starting tomorrow. The evening workouts are just not getting done and I've been busting my butt eating right with very slow results. If a few early morning workouts can get the weight moving I'll be very happy.
But not at 4am  , luckily I don't normally get up until 7:30 so will set the alarm for 6:30. Across the room. And sleep in my workout shirt. Thanks for all the tips.0 -
HATE when that d@mn alarm goes off so early, but it is the easiest time for me and doesn't cut into precious family time. Plus they say it boosts your metabolism for the rest of the day.0

YELP!!! My alarm goes off at 4:00 and I think in a few weeks I am going to have to move it to 3:45 so I start at 4...It is ROUGH still after doing it for 6 months but, I have to so I do...there is not other time to do it. AND YES, when I dont get up in time, my whole day is SHOT!!! :-)0

I get up at 3.45 am and its crazy yet I have tried to do cardio after work and it terrible, i couldn't even get thru my workout. Its nice to know I am not alone in getting up so early in the morning.0

I work out when my three little ones go to bed..............that only leaves three older children but usually I can workout at least 30 minutes without any interruptions.......the key for me is to do a very hard active 20-25 minute workout. I can't do an hour's worth........May try to start getting up early however wonder if my little ones will get up the same time as I do ........0

I also used to think people that worked out in the mornings were crazy, until I tried it and now I LOVE IT!
I get up at 4:30 or 5 depending on the day, drive 30 minutes to my gym (which is pretty close to my work), and get an hour to 90 minutes of working out in all before 7am!!!
It's SUCH a great way to start the day, and now that I'm in the habit its not that bad anymore. I feel great for the rest of the day and I'm more conscious about eating healthy! Plus, my hubby works super early in the morning, meaning he goes to bed super early, so I get to spend more time with him in the evenings!!!0 -
Morning workouts are the best!
I feel amazing for the rest of the day, and everything just falls into place better!0 -
Mad respect for you all. I dont start work until 11:30am, so my EARLY morning workout starts at 9:30.........and I still hate getting up. haha. No one has ever accused me of being a morning person.0

Got any tips for us peeps that still can't drag our butt out of bed?
Put your alarm clock across the room and place a 5-Hour Energy on it before you get to bed. When your alarm goes off, you have to get out of bed to shut it off. Pick up the 5-Hour Energy and drink it. Even if you lay back down in bed, you won't be asleep in 10 minutes which (for me at least) forces you to get up and workout.0 -
I find that I can't really sleep past 4:00 anymore during the week. For whatever reason I find myself waking up around 3:45. I usually try to be in bed around 10:00pm.
My motivation is:
1. I don't like working out when there are 200 people at my gym and I have to wait for anything really
2. I feel like it gives me a jump start to the day.
3. I don't want to be who I was 2 months ago
Think about it. If you tell yourself, I'm too tired, I'll just go tomorrow ... tomorrow will never come.0 -
How do you all do it???? I've tried so many times and I just feel wiped out. Any suggestions?0

I wish I could work out in the mornings! Every time I try I just laugh when my alarm goes off and then go back to sleep! It would be so nice to not have to work out after work! Maybe some day I will get there...0

What time do you sleep?0 -
`I usually roll out of bed at 5am and use the treadmill in my basement for an hour downstairs, take a shower at 6, check my email, eat a little breakfast and try to be out the door no later than 7:30am.
On the weekends, I like to sleep in. I think I deserve it0 -
I have gotten up at 4:30 in the morning for over a year almost every monday through friday to go to a class at the Y. I know if I don't get up at that time then I will never go...so I go.0

Sometimes I think I'd like working out early in the morning. it works for a few days max - then that extra time sleeping become much more important. I think I'd be much happier working something like 11am-7pm. I'm not quite a night owl, but I'm happier if my day is delayed.
I've come to believe that morning people will never understand those of us who aren't morning people, and vice versa. For all you morrning people who try to convince me that it's so peaceful and quiet in the morning - just remember - I'm one of the people that provide that peace and quiet for you!0 -
I am thinking of trying this. I might try getting up a little bit earlier each day. I am a substitute teacher so I don't work everyday. But getting my workout in at the same time would be great!! Plus it will be done before I get the kids to school and get stuff done around the house.
I guess a little bit of food before is a good idea? Not a full breakfast? I think someone said they eat 1/2 a banana.
Any suggestions on food before the early am workout?
thanks!0
