Losing Fat / Gaining Muscle

ive noticed in my measurements that they arent too different from one of my 'friends" on here but i am about 10 kg heavier. I am currently weighing 8 kg more than i wa 6 months ago and want to just get rid of the fat i have put on( i was training and now am not). id love to know how to do this without losing the muscle i did gain, or have i already lost that and have put just stacks of fat on? im sooooooo frustrated, i worked so hard for my body health and have watched it just dissapear and having trouble seeing any loss at all at the momment.0
