When I first started with my trainer, she was giving me a nutritional meal plan removing all my favorite junk foods and my eyes must have been popping out of my head, cause then she said, "It's Just Food." Not sure why, but it made me realize what an emotional attachment I had made to my food, and changing the types of food shouldn't be such a devastating, scary prospect.

Some other motivational phrases I like:

It Doesn't Get Easier. You Just Get Better.

Every Second is a Chance to Turn Your Life Around.

Stop wishing for it. Start working for it.

It's never too late to become what you might have been.
I like what your trainer said a lot. It really helps to remove the emotional attachment to food & realize that it's main purpose is to nourish you. Not to relax you, not to provide entertainment, but to fuel your body.
  • Best advice I was given and that I try hard to pass on is to make sure to eat ENOUGH. So many people get into the very low calorie trap and think that's the only way to lose weight. I was and still am amazed at the amount of calories I am able to eat and still lose weight.

    agreed.

I love this. It really does help. I jog and sometimes want to give up in the last stretch (1-2 mins). I just really focus on my form and breathing and I make it through. Focus on the process...really works for me.
focus on the process, and progress will follow.
  • I like to call this your come to jesus moment.. Whenever someone has a disease or needs something badly they pray to god...
Once you hit your bottom you start to exercise and watch what you eat..
Mine happened when I went to the doctor and he said we might need to put you on blood pressure and cholestoral medicine.
