I love the Boathouse Farms made with yogurt dressings. They have an awesome Caesar and Ranch. Since they're made with yogurt they only average 45 calories a serving. (A standard caesar has around 200 calories a serving,)

What makes dressing is the oil, unless you use something funky like xantham gum to thicken your liquid.
The beloved extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar dressing can be spruced up with mustard and honey. I like to add poppy seeds to my vinaigrettes too - it makes them beautiful!

I like simple oil and vinegar, with maybe a sprinkle of salt.

But for store-bought, one of my favorites is Kraft's Mango Chipotle Vinaigrette. It's lightly sweet, but with a kick.

If you've got interesting lettuce types and veggies in your salad, I find just salt and freshly ground black pepper tossed through is perfect. I can't tell you the number of times people have asked for my "salad dressing" recipe!

I've been doing some pseudo-Asian almond butter-based dressings (almond butter, soy sauce, honey/agave, water or lime juice, cayenne pepper) that I really like. Helps me get a little healthy fat into my salad lunches and tide me over until snack time.

Do you like cottage cheese? I've grown to really enjoy it on salad (also with black pepper). You can add a tablespoon (or less) of a favorite dressing to the cottage cheese and it'll spread the flavor throughout your salad.

1/2 table spoon olive oil, 1 table spoon basalmic vineager and 1 table spoon lime juice is deslishes
  • Rachel Ray makes a basalmic drizzle that is in the vinegar section. It's only 20 calories. It is sweeter and thicker than vinegar so it doesn't need anything added, and I can even skip the oil. It's not as great as regular dressing, but it is so good for the small amt of calories.
