Why would you add a friend?

There are lots of new people joining MFP and looking for friends. There are also `long term` people on MFP that add friends

Why would you add a `friend`?

Do you look for similar lifestyles/age/mindset?

Is it because you have had a meeting of minds (aka argument and then you got along)

Or do you just add friends ad hoc?

What does it for you with the whole `friends` thing?

I rarely take the step to add someone, and only do if I get a strong pull for some reason and/or someone really appeals to me, but that's been quite rare. Otherwise I'll add everyone who invites me, I don't care the reason why.

This exactly, oh and my legs/boobs seem to be a great drawcard :blushing:

I do add if the person really appeals to me, either we get along really well or I think we'd be great friends or they are just funny.

Depends on how much they try to flatter me in the FR. I'm vain and like to be told that I'm awesome. Otherwise, automatic decline.

most people say they like chocolate, that's one thing we have in common and we take it from there. ideal would be if they told me what thread they saw me on or something. I've only sought out to add a couple and it was one had a martini in his pic and don't recall the other. ...probably because of the martini.

I like to try and be helpful and positive. I don't send out too many requests myself, but I have been lucky enough that others have sent me requests. And the folks I do have are awesome!

Usually it is just about inpsiration, motivation, or even like-mindedness.
