    Hit (and surpassed) my mini-goal of 25 miles this week by doing another 6.5 =)

    March/April Goal: 150 miles (before my due date in early May)
    Goal Completed: 42.5 miles (28%)

    March 5---10miles (50min stationary)
    March 7---6 miles (30 min stationary)
    March 10---6 miles (30 min stationary)
    March 12---14 miles (70 min stationary)

    I got in 4 more miles this evening. I had forgotten how freeing it is to ride. I had also forgotten just how sore my bum could be. I've gotten really out of shape since my last ride 4 months ago. I'm looking forward to building my strength up.

    Go for it. If you haven't got any get some padded shorts they make everything much more comfortable.

    Great thread, really good to find it. I upped my mileage on the bike last summer as a way to help me loose weight (I lost the 50 lbs I needed to and am now trying to maintain that weight) so it'll be really good to be able to post here. Mostly I'm commuting on the road but I ride mountain bikes most weekends for fun. When I first got back on a bike seven years ago I was about 280 lbs and a couch potato, I initially lost about 85 lbs and then took my eye off the ball and let my weight wander a bit, currently I'm down to 167 and training hard.

    So far in March I've done
    3rd Mar - 12 miles mountain biking
    4th-10th - 117 miles (14 miles mountain biking)
    11th - 17th - 78 miles (9 miles mountain biking in rotten weather)

    We got hit by a snow storm while out of town, so we lost a few days.

    Took a very wet, cold, rainy bike ride today, but we wandered around battling the offensive rain so I don't know how many km. I like distance better, but I might just record how many hours spent since it is recorded for me with my bike subscription.

    Goal: 12h

    I hope everyone wants to do this next month too. Keeping track is showing me how much is plausible and how well I'm doing. Hopefully later I'll be able to keep better track of distance. I even thought of using a car GPS I have to track it.

    My gym finally got a few bikes repaired. Hence, with the upright more available, my 25 miles/week goal has now become 30!

    This cold snap is killing my mileage. I have only done one other spin class to get another 25 miles. I started doing more treadmill thinking I would get some 'real' riding in soon enough :-)

    I'm only at 142 of my 400.... grumble grumble grumble

    I don't think the car GPS would suit a bike hey tend to be quite power hungry, but I might be wrong depending upon the model. If you have an Android phone, or one of the alternative (very expensive) fashion bricks, you can download an app that will track your route, distance, time and much much more. I just chuck my phone in my bag or back pocket. A lot of people track their routes using Strava.
